Membership Resolution Points of Clarification

In April, the Executive Committee of the Boy Scouts of America drafted a resolution that maintains its current membership policy for all adult leaders and states that youth may not be denied membership in the BSA on the basis of sexual orientation or preference alone. The resolution proposes the following:

Membership in any program of the Boy Scouts of America requires the youth member to (a) subscribe to and abide by the values expressed in the Scout Oath and Scout Law, (b) subscribe to and abide by the precepts of the Declaration of Religious Principle (duty to God), and (c) demonstrate behavior that exemplifies the highest level of good conduct and respect for others and is consistent at all times with the values expressed in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. No youth may be denied membership in the Boy Scouts of America on the basis of sexual orientation or preference alone.

The Boy Scouts received reaction about the proposal from those who approve of the potential change and those who oppose it. Many of those who oppose it, both for personal and religious beliefs, have asked questions about the proposal and its potential impact on Scouting. The Boy Scouts of America respects the deeply held religious, moral, and ethical beliefs of everyone within the Scouting family and firmly believes that dedicated Scouters can be people of good will and still disagree about this policy. However, the Boy Scouts of America wants to address some key concerns and misunderstandings about the proposal and provide you with Scouting’s perspective as you prepare to vote.

1. This proposal is in line with Scouting’s principles and virtues.

Some have asserted that having different standards for adults and youth is illogical or contradictory and runs counter to the principles of Scouting. Asserting this proposal is contradictory is based on a misunderstanding of the resolution. The resolution states:

Youth are still developing, learning about themselves and who they are, developing their sense of right and wrong, and understanding their duty to God to live a moral life.

Any sexual conduct, whether homosexual or heterosexual, by youth of Scouting age is contrary to the virtues of Scouting.

The organization will maintain its current membership policy for all adult leaders.
No member may use Scouting to promote or advance any social or political position or agenda.

Members must demonstrate behavior that exemplifies the highest level of good conduct and respect for others and is consistent at all times with the values expressed in the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

By reinforcing that Scouting is a youth program, and any sexual conduct, whether heterosexual or homosexual, by youth of Scouting age is contrary to the virtues of Scouting, and that no member may use Scouting to promote or advance any social or political position or agenda, this resolution rightly recognizes there is a difference between kids and adults while remaining true to the long-standing virtues of Scouting.

[What a pack of liars these BSA leaders are. Look: the very proposal is about kids who trumpet that they are already defiantly decided to be militant in their advertising of their perversion, regardless of whether they otherwise act this out in sexual actions. This militant attitude is blessed and encouraged by the BSA leaders. What a pack of liars they are.]

2. This proposal is in line with the beliefs of most of Scouting’s major religious chartered organizations.

Some have asserted that the proposed change for youth runs counter to values of and raises concerns among Scouting’s religious chartered organizations. We are unaware of any major religious chartered organization that believes a youth member simply stating he or she is attracted to the same sex, but not engaging in sexual activity, should make him or her unwelcome in their congregation. [Why do they publicly trumpet this if they are not also promoting it? Being proud of that which is a disorder is defiant militancy against any bible-believing religious organization. This is another blatant lie of the homosexualist leadership of the BSA.]

This proposal reinforces Scouting’s belief that sexual conduct by any Scout, heterosexual or homosexual, is contrary to the virtues of Scouting and is reflective of the beliefs of most of our major religious chartered organizations.

While, if this resolution is passed, no youth may be denied membership in the Boy Scouts of America on the basis of stating their sexual orientation alone, Scouting expects appropriate behavior from all members, which includes sexual conduct, regardless of sexual orientation. [This is all inconsistent. If you're going to trumpet your going against the natural law and religious law, why oh why would anyone hesitate after that to hesitate to contravene any law of the BSA? Are the homosexualist leadership of the BSA serious? Yep. They're militant.]

3. This proposal remains true to the long-standing virtues of Scouting and allows all youth who sincerely want to be a part of Scouting the chance to experience this life-changing program.

Some have asserted that this proposal didn’t go far enough and the Boy Scouts should remove any sexual orientation standard for membership for both youth members and adults leaders. [Let's not forget the John Jay study which found that 82% of sexual abuse of minors is homosexual in nature. Let's not forget that predators try to insinuate themselves into situations where they will be working with youngsters. Who are those homosexualists who have demanded the BSA become an easy playground for predators?]

The Boy Scouts recognizes some wish this proposal would have included changing the standard for adult members. [If the BSA fails to maintain its standards in the vote, it won't stop until the admission adult militant homosexualists is the result. This would be seen as a resolution of inconsistencies.] The BSA reviewed a variety of policy options that would allow us to provide kids a place to belong while they learn and grow. [But the BSA encourages militant trumpeting...]

The conclusion the executive officers of the Boy Scouts of America reached is that this is the option [=encouraging youngsters to trumpet their militant homosexualism] that did not, in some way, prevent kids who sincerely want to be a part of Scouting from experiencing this life-changing program [life perverting at this rate].

While people have different opinions about this policy, kids are better off when they are in Scouting. [Not if the homosexualist leadership gets their way. By the way, if they don't get their way, the entire executive homosexualist leadership should be removed.]

4. The BSA is a leading expert in youth protection, and kids are safe in its programs. The BSA is fully equipped to administer this policy [The policy itself is sexual abuse, as it encourages youngsters at a very formative time to go ahead and think that they are homosexuals, and that it is great to be militant homosexualists.].

Some have asserted that this proposal will put children at higher risk of being sexually abused or bullied and that the organization will not be able to administer this policy while protecting the safety and privacy of all Scouts. [See above. Also, those who reject the natural law and religious law as does the homosexualist leadership of the BSA are not be entrusted with the sexual safety of youngsters. This safety is what they are militating against.]

The BSA would never consider a proposal that increased risk to young people. To be clear, the BSA makes no connection between the sexual abuse or victimization of a child and homosexuality. The BSA takes strong exception to this assertion. Some of the nation’s leading experts reinforce this position. [And there it is. They are defending that their encouragement of militant homosexuality on the part of youngsters is just great, and they will not tolerate any divergence from this: "Strong exception."]

The BSA has stringent polices that protect the safety and privacy of youth and adult members and has always worked to ensure that it is a supportive and safe environment for young people. [How the BSA is falling!]

As it relates to logistical issues for volunteers, Scouting is already equipped to address these issues. No other organization has the same level of expertise for administering logistics and protecting the safety of its participants. [Kind of self-congratulatory, that.]

Also, to further prepare the organization, the BSA has created an implementation task force to make sure it is ready, should this resolution pass. It is looking into how other organizations have dealt with these issues. The BSA chose the effective date of Jan. 1, 2014, to give the organization the time it needs to make sure it is operationally ready for this policy. [This will be entirely aimed not at possible abuse, which they refuse to consider, but at sanctions and expulsion for those who criticize such militantly homosexualist policies.]

5. Scouting will remain focused on its mission, the Scout Oath, and the Scout Law.

Some have asserted that this proposal will unduly interject sexuality into the BSA and take away parents’ rights to discuss sexuality at the time and place of their choosing. [Got that right!]

The BSA believes parents should decide if, when, and how to discuss matters of sexuality with their kids. [But the homosexualist leadership have taken this away by encouraging youngsters to publicly declare themselves, thus becoming militant homosexualists. This is sexual abuse of youngsters. The BSA are the most influential leaders in sexual abuse.]

This proposal reinforces Scouting’s belief that sexual conduct by any Scout, heterosexual or homosexual, is contrary to the virtues of Scouting. [Liars.]

[The inconsistencies of the BSA instruct youngsters that militant homosexualist trumpeting is great, and this is sexual abuse of youngsters. So what in hell does the leadership of the BSA mean?]

6. Boy Scouts of America membership is unequivocally unified about the value of Scouting.

Some have asserted that if this proposal is adopted—or if the Boy Scouts does not amend its current policy—Scouting will see significant and unrecoverable losses in membership and monetary support. [Got that right. I've already been working with E.G. for a very workable alternative.]

Recently, the Boy Scouts completed the most comprehensive listening exercise in its history, gathering perspectives from inside and outside of the Scouting family. At the time of this review, most regions, councils, and volunteers participated with the belief that the Boy Scouts was considering a change to its adult leader membership standards, a proposal significantly different from the resolution under consideration. [We remember the oft-times sarcastic responses of the leadership of the BSA to polite statements.]

It is extremely difficult to accurately quantify the potential impact, in terms of membership and financial support, of maintaining or changing the current policy. [Just a slight adjustment there. So, virtue and all that good and pure and not perverted is not a strength, but rather a liability. What a pack of hypocrites.] However, over the course of nearly three months, more than a quarter of a million Boy Scout members and leaders participated in research that examined their views of Scouting.

The Boy Scouts of America is encouraged that this research showed, even with the uncertainty of which direction the membership standards policy might go, their loyalty to the BSA increased, and Scouting’s parents, members, and leaders believe Scouting is fulfilling [Before the vote, right?] its mission to develop youth into responsible, capable adults. [What does that even mean to such leadership?]

Regardless of the results of the vote, the membership policy will not match everyone’s personal preference. The Boy Scouts will undoubtedly face challenges; however, Scouting is bigger than this single issue, and good people can disagree and still work together to accomplish great things for youth. [If the vote is to maintain the status quo, the homosexualist leadership should be immediately sacked.]

7. The BSA is committed to listening to the Scouting family and engaging in open dialogue.

Some have asserted that the Boy Scout’s leaders didn’t listen to its Scouting family in this process or are keeping information from voters. Through this process, Scouting embarked on the most comprehensive listening exercise in its history, gathering perspectives from inside and outside of the Scouting family. [Mocking many who expressed concerns.]

Over the course of nearly three months, more than 200,000 BSA members and leaders participated in research. Our review confirmed that this remains among the most complex and challenging issues facing the BSA and society today.

Scouting’s vision is to serve every eligible youth in America, and this policy would allow it to serve more kids and focus on their development [This is exactly what this policy change would not do, and in fact, it would do the opposite, trying to get youngsters to entrench themselves in militant homosexuality]. The Executive Committee unanimously agreed that this resolution is in the best interest of Scouting. [So, get rid of the Executive Committee, unanimously.] While perspectives and opinions vary significantly, parents, adults in the Scouting community, and teens alike tend to agree that youth should not be denied the benefits of Scouting. [Typical ambiguity of those trying to push an agenda, shoving it down people's throats.]

Several well-known religious organizations say they were targeted by the Internal Revenue Service, including the ministry founded by famed evangelist Billy Graham and a 180-year-old Baptist newspaper, Fox News has learned.

Among the ministries targeted are the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Samaritan’s Purse and the Biblical Recorder – the newspaper of the North Carolina Baptist State Convention. The revelations seem to indicate the IRS was targeting more than just Tea Party groups and conservative political organizations.

“I am bringing this to your attention because I believe that someone in the Administration was targeting and attempting to intimidate us,” wrote Franklin Graham in a letter Tuesday to President Obama. “This is morally wrong and unethical – indeed some would call it ‘un-American.’”

Graham is president of the ministry his father founded – as well as the international charity known as Samaritan’s Purse. Both organizations were notified of the IRS audits on the same day – not long after running advertisements supporting North Carolina’s Marriage amendment.

Update: ANONYMOUS instigates attack on Catholic Ordination: Seminarians I taught

Two seminarians whom I taught and advised — good friends — at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio, will be ordained today to the transitional diaconate at 7:00 PM. (May 3, 2013). Prayers for them, please! Hail Mary…

ANONYMOUS has scheduled a protest to “occupy” Cathedral Square in downtown Columbus during this time. Cowards. They hide behind masks and computer screens.

ANONYMOUS say they are protesting the firing for breach of contract of a recently self-identified homosexualist from a Catholic school, but, in all reality, they are capitalizing on the ordination of two seminarians so as to make their point that they are going to fight the Catholic Church as such. And to start their onslaught, they are attacking two individuals, my friends, who have absolutely nothing to do with any of this. This means that ANONYMOUS is a group of absolute total cowards.

Some wise direction that was sent out to all involved:

We have been made aware of a potential protest for the Diaconate Ordination this evening. The group Anonymous [...asked...] for people who support “gay marriage” to “occupy” Cathedral Square starting at 4 pm. [...] As you may well be aware, these protests sometimes turn violent. The protesters are simply out to cause a scene and to cause emotional damage to the Catholic community as a whole. Their goal will be to engage anyone who is willing, and then to quickly bring about shame or harm. I cannot emphasize this enough, please do not engage the protesters in any way. It is what they want, and no matter how much you wish to evangelize or defend the Church they are not willing to participate in a fruitful discussion of any kind. When you pass by them, if you feel compelled to say anything, it should be no more than “hello” or “good afternoon.” But even this will invite unwanted responses from them.

Yes, well. That’s a bit naive as well. I mean, these kind of professional protesters can send in those who look like they want to support the Ordination Mass, getting escorted into the Cathedral, but then, just before going inside, purposely engage ANONYMOUS, even violently, so that ANONYMOUS looks to be the victim.

ANONYMOUS made use of a terroristic threat in the event that the Diocese of Columbus does not cave into the request of ANONYMOUS to run the Catholic Church and trash its doctrines and morals. Making a terroristic threat is a felony of the third degree in the State of Ohio:

2909.23 Making terroristic threat.

(A) No person shall threaten to commit or threaten to cause to be committed a specified offense when both of the following apply:

(1) The person makes the threat with purpose to do any of the following:

(a) Intimidate or coerce a civilian population;

(b) Influence the policy of any government by intimidation or coercion;

(c) Affect the conduct of any government by the threat or by the specified offense.

(2) As a result of the threat, the person causes a reasonable expectation or fear of the imminent commission of the specified offense.

(B) It is not a defense to a charge of a violation of this section that the defendant did not have the intent or capability to commit the threatened specified offense or that the threat was not made to a person who was a subject of the threatened specified offense.

(C) Whoever violates this section is guilty of making a terroristic threat, a felony of the third degree. Section 2909.25 of the Revised Code applies regarding an offender who is convicted of or pleads guilty to a violation of this section.

Effective Date: 05-15-2002

Those who associate with ANONYMOUS in the present protest may be liable for felony proceedings. Penalties run from nine months to three years. I think everyone in a mask or otherwise causing trouble should be arrested forthwith if they anywhere near the Cathedral. The Super-Max Department of Corrections facility just to the West of Columbus could surely hold them all.

I would also say to the homosexualist one-time teacher who was fired: If you don’t immediately repudiate the terroristic threats of ANONYMOUS, who make it seem that they are speaking on your behalf, well then, that would make it seem that you yourself are the one who has brought them in on this situation. If you are associated with this, I mean, how dare you threaten my friends? I’m personally offended. And this is the way that you want to get reinstated as a Catholic teacher? Anonymous thinks it is the way for sure. Think about it. ANONYMOUS hates you, and is stomping on you in every way. You’re being used and abused by ANONYMOUS.

While analyzing the diatribe of ANONYMOUS, I note that there was an indication that ANONYMOUS has a professional, that is, salaried core group, with everyone else being their puppets. This is a dangerous group. If mercenaries are paid to be violent, they will be.

Threats have been coming into the school itself for days. And that would be consistent with ANONYMOUS. Threatening to interfere with a place which children frequent is what terrorists do. Yep. It’s always the children. Always. And this isn’t just another Sandy Hook incident with some crazy guy. Instead, this is an international terrorist group. And it’s pre-meditated. I hope the police can stop them and their puppets in their tracks.

What will ANONYMOUS do in a situation like this, as retaliation for them not becoming the head of the Catholic Church? They’ll do what they so often do, as reported by those who have been attacked by ANONYMOUS, and that is to hack into websites and plaster homosexual porn all over the screens of the various pages of the websites. And then they go further. They go out of their way to push the police into using tear gas and, in various venues around the world, even live ammunition.

Why do they do that?

Because that’s the kind of person you would want in your local grade school teaching your kids, right? Isn’t that their message?

And, really, why bother the seminarians? Because ANONYMOUS is at war with the Catholic Church.

Update: Protesters were about — what? — a dozen? Those in masks were, like, maybe two or three in number. So sad altogether. I see that they’re blackmailing someone with already public information to be “revealed” on Monday.

Psychological profiling of terrorists – Obama bans the truth to enable more terror

There are plenty of psychiatrists / psychologists hired by the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Department of Energy, and all sorts of competing agencies of other Federal organizations, not to mention all kinds of military and paramilitary and other kinds of actionable groups.

One of their jobs is to profile the psychology of a terrorist.

But these shrinks are missing the forest for the trees, indeed, for getting caught up in the moss on this or that tree.

Proof of this is their pitiable descriptions of depression, or anger, or being conflicted. A perfect example of this regards a psychologist’s description of the Muslim military shrink in Fort Hood who shot up his fellow soldiers in an act of terrorism that Obama declared was not terrorism (regardless of that terrorists involvement with known overseas terrorists).

Ooooo! It’s all so senseless, so unreasonable, a sign of mental illness, they say. 

These guys speak of being radicalized, which they equate with throwing spittle flecked tantrums. But that doesn’t speak to reality, does it?

As it turns out, Obama has forbidden profilers to delve into the truth of the matter. They cannot ask, “What do Muslims believe?” Robert Spencer has a great two page article on this: Page One and Page Two.

In that short article, Robert didn’t get around to mentioning, however, a broader point, which involves a perspective on reason from the point of view of Islamic belief. You can’t mention everything all the time, but it is the one aspect of all this that few, if any, talk about, and now talking about it, by those who should talk about it, is banned.

This aspect about reason and faith trumps all other aspects of the psychology of this or that individual. It’s what sets the stage for “radicalization” or other things to be successful. Understand this one, central, driving force, and you’re way ahead of the game. 

Remember Pope Benedict’s Regensburg Address, and why it was rejected by all ideological power brokers of Islam? Benedict asked for a dialogue based on reason. Reason in dialogue was explicitly rejected with the statement that our reason is useless, that Allah has a different reasoning than ours. The context of this was the Islamic spreading of faith by the sword, the political edge of Islam without which there is no Islamic belief.

Remember Pope Francis’ opening volley in dialogue? He recalled that Regensburg Address by asking for a dialogue based on reason. That request is still hanging in the air.

Once a Muslim accepts that there is no reason to be applied to religion, that religion doesn’t need to be reasonable, all bets are off. “There are no more values anymore,” as one of the Boston Marathon bombers said. Whatever Allah wants, that’s what Allah gets.

Whatever Obama says, intelligence community psychologists shouldn’t be looking for anyone spittle-flecked. As with most terrorists of this kind, they are as cool as cucumbers, more so than all others around them. Hey! There’s a point for a profile.

At any rate, the younger terrorist is soon to be questioned, if he survives. However, if the best that can be thrown at him is the Reid Technique, they’ll get nowhere fast.

Such a terrorist is not interested in claiming innocence. He will immediately say that he did what he did and proclaim that Allah is great. There’s no way to embarrass someone who proclaims that there are no values because reason is useless in the face of belief in Allah.

Sure, the Reid Technique is subtle, and can trick information out of someone, and perhaps questions about family and friends back in the old country and the refugee camp will bear some fruit. But, I would say, almost none.

I suppose that is why some Senators want this fellow to be called an enemy combatant. Military interrogators, I would think, have learned that the Reid Technique is basically useless for Islamic terrorists.

I can already hear the objections to this post. Before objecting, read the two pages of Robert linked to above. I agree with what he has to say.

President Obama called on the Boy Scouts to open their ranks to homosexuals.

His response came during an interview ahead of Super Bowl XLVII. CBS News’ Scott Pelley asked the president if scouting should be open to gays.

“Yes,” the president replied. “Gays and lesbians should have access and opportunity the same way everyone else does.”

BSA national leaders are meeting this week in Dallas to discuss lifting a ‘no-gay’ ban on both members and leaders.

On Monday a group of 42 religious groups will publish a half-page ad in USA Today calling on the Scouts to resist political and economic pressures to lift the ban.

The group is taking out a major advertising buy tomorrow denouncing the Scouts’ decision to consider changing their longstanding policy prohibiting openly gay Scout leaders or Scouts.

“To the Boy Scouts of America: Show courage,” the advertisement read. “Stand firm for timeless values.”

The Supreme Court upheld the Boy Scouts’ rights to determine their own membership standards – but that hasn’t stopped opponents from putting fierce pressure on the group.

“How will parents be able to entrust their children to the Boy Scouts if they trade the well-being of the boys for corporate dollars,” the group asked. “To compromise moral principles under political and financial pressure would teach boys cowardice, not courage. Every parent concerned about guiding and protecting their own children should also be alarmed by the proposed change to Boy Scout policy.”

Last year, the BSA confirmed that the “vast majority of the parents” of BSA members “reserve to themselves the right to introduce and give guidance on sexual topics.”

Bill Donohue on HHS revision of abortion mandate

Bill Donohue comments on the revised rules, announced today, regarding the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) mandate:

The rules proposed today by HHS appear to go a long way toward rectifying the most problematic provisions of the mandate. Essentially, the rules provide insularity for Catholic institutions: they will not be directly involved in providing health insurance coverage for contraception, sterilization and abortion-inducing drugs.

Perhaps the most welcome aspect of the new strictures is the elimination of the criteria that define what constitutes a religious institution. Gone altogether is the highly objectionable definition that excludes an exemption for those religious entities that hire and serve mostly people of other religions. As has been pointed out many times, this definition punishes Catholic institutions for not discriminating against Jews, Protestants, Muslims, Mormons, agnostics, and atheists.

The new rules now simply revert to the established understanding of a religious employer as defined by the IRS. This makes eminently good sense.

Still unresolved is the issue of private employers who invoke a religious objection to providing insurance coverage for services they deem morally objectionable. Because the new rules have not been finalized, and there is an opportunity for further public discussion, more progress may yet be made.

While many aspects of the new proposal need to be examined before a final conclusion can be rendered, the decision to expand religious exemptions, and to adopt the IRS definition of a religious institution, is a sign of goodwill by the Obama administration toward the Catholic community.

HSH Comment: Actually, I just think Obama figured out that he was going to lose in court, so instead of being slammed down by the courts again, he took the hit, kind of, for he can still play with it for months. And, actually, the court cases can still go forward since nothing is finalized yet, and, therefore, the penalties still apply, right?

Only racists want the vast majority of abortion clinics in black neighborhoods as a method of genocide, and that’s what Obama the racist is all about. Instead, MLKJr, had this to say:

I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.

Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.

But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. And so we’ve come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.

In a sense we’ve come to our nation’s capital to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the “unalienable Rights” of “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note, insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked “insufficient funds.”

But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. And so, we’ve come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.

We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God’s children.

It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. This sweltering summer of the Negro’s legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning. And those who hope that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. And there will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.

But there is something that I must say to my people, who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice: In the process of gaining our rightful place, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again, we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.

The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. And they have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom.

We cannot walk alone.

And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead.

We cannot turn back.

There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, “When will you be satisfied?” We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. We can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. We cannot be satisfied as long as the negro’s basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their self-hood and robbed of their dignity by signs stating: “For Whites Only.” We cannot be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until “justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream.”

I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. And some of you have come from areas where your quest — quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive. Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed.

Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends.

And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California.

But not only that:

Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee.

Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi.

From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

And when this happens, when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:

An obervation about HSH, the NYT and the Holocaust

I just find it interesting that the article I put up back in November 2012 detailing the complicity of the New York Times in the Holocaust back in the day — and with an attitude that I prove continues to this day — is daily since that time high up or even number one in the blog stats. The first paragraph:

The upshot of this article: Not only was The New York Times run by Holocaust denying Nazi sympathizers during and after World War II, but this is still the case today, with the particularly tragic edge of sarcasm and cynicism known only to those who defend their crimes against humanity. It is not too harsh to speak of sympathy with Hitler when the most powerful mass media instrument of the day downplayed and buried and, indeed, effectively denied that there was anything even like a Final Solution, as Hitler called his genocide. And that denial is, of course, a crime.

Bill Donohue and anti-Semitic New York Times on Pius XII. The sarcasm may be too subtle.

Here’s Bill Donohue’s Ad on the Op-Ed page in today’s NY Times.

My comments follow.

NEW YORK TIMES SALUTES POPE PIUS XII

On Christmas Day 1942, as the Holocaust was raging, the New York Times published an editorial on the heroics of Pope Pius XII. Here is a selection from that statement that ran 70 years ago:

“No Christmas sermon reaches a larger congregation than the message Pope Pius XII addresses to a war-torn world at this season. This Christmas more than ever he is a lonely voice crying out of the silence of a continent. The Pulpit whence he speaks is more than ever like the Rock on which the Church was founded, a tiny island lashed and surrounded by a sea of war.

“Pope Pius expresses as passionately as any leader on our side the war aims of the struggle for freedom when he says that those who aim at building a new world must fight for free choice of government and religious order. They must refuse that the state should make of individuals a herd of whom the state disposes as if they were a lifeless thing.”

The previous Christmas was also marked by a New York Times editorial:

“The voice of Pius XII is a lonely voice in the silence and darkness enveloping Europe this Christmas.

“In calling for a ‘real new order’ based on ‘liberty, justice, and love,’ to be attained only by a ‘return to social and international principles capable of creating a barrier against the abuse of liberty and the abuse of power,’ the Pope put himself squarely against Hitlerism. Recognizing that there is no road open to agreement between belligerents ‘whose reciprocal war aims and programs seem to be irreconcilable,’ he left no doubt that the Nazi aims are also irreconcilable with his own conception of a Christian peace.”

We feel confident that when the entire Vatican archives are released, there will be even more reason to salute the heroics of Pope Pius XII.

That nice. Too nice. I’m sure this ad is tongue in cheek. But the sarcasm may be too subtle.

  • I’m sure Bill knows that the headline ”New York Times Salutes Pius XII” makes it seem like they did something today. Of course, they did not.
  • I’m sure Bill knows that these are merely editorials. He says so.
  • I’m sure Bill knows that these editorials are in sharp contrast to the under-reporting and outright misinformation about the Holocaust by The New York Times news pages during the Holocaust, a fact which, because of their position of power at the time, made them complicit with Hitler. They could have gone a long way to stopping the Holocaust, but purposely did not.
  • I’m sure Bill knows that the Times has continued their criticism of those who criticize the Times on this point, until this day.
  • I’m sure Bill knows that the ad he placed today on the op-ed page is an incrimination of The NY Times.

The problem is that people are so incredibly ignorant today that they will think that Bill is complimenting The NY Times for doing the right thing during the Holocaust when they so manifestly, purposely, did not.

I want to hear the words from today’s publisher and director of The NY Times that the Times was complicit in the Holocaust. Only this would begin to set things right. And I don’t want to see it on the Op-Ed page or even with the editorials themselves. No, it has to be the front page, the whole page. An entire exposition and confession and begging for forgiveness.

Every day that The New York Times doesn’t do the necessary in confessing their complicity with the Holocaust is one more day that The New York Times says that genocide doesn’t matter, that Jews don’t matter, that news reporting doesn’t matter, that you don’t matter, that the purpose of life is to lie and murder and bulldoze one’s brothers into mass graves.

Are there also Catholics who have fallen into the ditch on the right or left who will lie about Pius XII for their own agendas. Sure. Like The NY Times, they do so standing on the corpses of six million Jews.

Exclusive Report: Fiji quietly falls to Chinese backed Islamicist extremists at the end of 2012, a coup within the coup d’état

I took this picture in Eastern Fiji during the coup d’état of 2000. Looks peaceful, right? You would be wrong on that. The house is cement with a tin roof. The inside is charred. Nothing left. Plenty of deaths and lots of destruction. The coup within the coup d’état of 2012 promises to be much worse in both the short and long term. This time, it’s all about Islamicist radicals and China.

There’s a news blackout in Fiji that is being enforced not only by terrorist censors of the “government” fining journalists with unpayable fines (six figures in USA$ for that poor country) and imprisoning them for two years, but also, as a lead up, smashing into their work places and violently trashing reporters’ homes. All communications are blocked or censored.

One reporter, risking life and limb (already violently smacked down by censors) smuggled out news of a coup within the present coup d’état. That news was given by personal courier to a mutual friend. I publish it here since no one else is covering this story of the fall of the Pacific to Islamicist radicals supported by, you guessed it, China.

But you won’t see any updated travel advisories. No, no. None of that. Obama is Islamicist friendly, didn’t you know? China’s not a threat to world stability. No, no. None of that. Obama is Asia friendly, didn’t you know?

A snippet:

“The reality is that China comes along and the USA is sleeping away. By the time you wake up the Pacific is going for good to China. My friend said is it a scary situation as the election is promised to be held in 2014. In the mean time we are living in fear.”

And another:

“The 2nd in command of the military is Muslim and he is running the show instead of the commander. I suppose he fears for his head. The 2nd in command apparently put all his fellow Muslims as heads of the government departments so everything is controlled in an Islamicist fashion. What a frightening situation to live with.”

Comment: Much of World War II was fought in the Pacific precisely over things like this. I wonder what our Veterans think. I wonder what the present Military thinks. I wonder what our spooky friends think, who have known all this for the longest time.

It’s politically correct not even to notice that it is taking place. This is what America voted for. This is what the world gets.

Look, I know Frank Bainimarama. I spoke with him at length about where Fiji was coming from, what he was trying to do with Fiji, and where he wanted to go with Fiji in the future. I spoke with him about their military and their U.N. “training”. I spoke with him about Marxist elements and the danger of ethnic cleansing, which was being promoted at a national level among all leaders of the Island group. I know, because I was there, and I personally know extremely well these Marxist elements and the ethnic cleansing they promote on a popular and political level. I know where they meet and what they say, because… they tell me, and I witness it firsthand.

My surmising of the situation: There will be… there is… violence in Fiji, which will fall into… which has already fallen into… Islamicist control. Ever so quietly. Unless you live in Fiji. Unless you want freedom of speech. Forget about any free and fair elections. China rejoices. A civil war is in the making. I personally know the “players.” They will brook no dissent in order to make it happen.

I have much to say about this. I have much to say about the complacency, even complicity, even direct involvement, even on the level of instigation of some few Catholic clergy in all this. But that’s for another post. I wonder if I should name names, you know, of Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops and priests, diocesan and religious, from the South Pacific all the way to a certain dicastery in the Roman Curia. That may be necessary in order to avoid an impending blood bath.

Oh, and reporting by MSM? Nah. It’s not politically correct. And they know nothing. And play down tensions. For instance, The New York Times, typical of their non reporting on violence and genocides  (like the Holocaust) downplays the slave trade bringing Indians to work the sugar cane as “cheap labor.” Really? Wars are fought over just that. Typical “Times.”

New York Times Company stock set to go into an even more severe decline starting 28 November 2012. I predict advertizers will run.

Disclaimer: I don’t have any stock or put any stock in the NYT corporation.

But I do predict that advertizers, who have already been abandoning the NYT, will speed up their departure, leaving the NYT in an impossible position.

This isn’t just about constant losses of what seems to be a foreseeably bankrupt and already beleaguered NYT, nor is this about the scandal involving in some way the new director of the New York Times (a story covered by Bill Donohue at the Catholic League), but about something else altogether, at least seemingly. I’m betting that advertizers are going to run fast because of what’s coming on Wednesday.

But before we get to that on Wednesday, let’s just take a snippet from an article of the NYT about itself: here.

New York Times Company Posts a Profit but Advertising Falls, Lowering Revenue

Updated | 9:20 p.m. The share price for The New York Times Company stock tumbled nearly 22 percent on Thursday after posting lower-than-expected earnings.

The company reported third-quarter net income of $2.28 million on Thursday, a decline of more than 85 percent from the period a year earlier, when the company posted a large gain on the sale of investments and took a charge for paying down its debt ahead of schedule.

The net income is equal to about 2 cents a share, compared with net income of $15.7 million, or 10 cents a share, in the third quarter of 2011. Analysts had forecast income of 8 cents a share. Total revenue declined 0.6 percent, to $449 million, dragged down by continuing weakness in advertising revenue, which fell 8.9 percent, to $182.6 million, from $200.5 million.

Print advertising at the company’s newspapers, which include The New York Times, The Boston Globe and The International Herald Tribune, shrank 10.9 percent, and digital advertising across the company fell 2.2 percent.

Shares closed at $8.31, down $2.34 for the day.

Douglas Arthur, an equity analyst at Evercore Partners, an investment bank that follows The Times and has a buy on the stock, said the company performed far worse than its competitors in advertising sales. Gannett, for example, recently reported a 6.6 percent decline in publishing-related ad revenues for the third quarter.

“It was an absolute awful quarter for The New York Times; there were no ifs, ands or buts,” Mr. Arthur said. “The print being down 11 percent is a head-scratcher. We’re not seeing those kinds of drops at other companies. In fact, some companies are seeing a pickup. The Times is an outlier.”

My comment: There’s a Pulitzer-worthy piece (not written by me) that has already gone to press, and which will appear on 28 November 2012 (but not in the NYT, so stay tuned). Mark your calendars. Actually, never mind. You’ll hear about it, though probably not from the NYT, the Boston Globe, The International Herald Tribune, and any other subsidiaries of the NYT, at least not for a day or two. And then you’ll probably see an extremely adept defense and rationalization, which has already been tried in the past. But we’ll be anyalyzing their spin. There will be a lot of that. But spin with this kind of thing just won’t work anymore. I’m just guessing, but I think the Wall Street Journal and FoxNews will be interested in this story within a week or two. And then it will go from there. Sorry, but I’m under embargo until 28 November as to what this is all about.

“Anonymous” identity revealed (or the best guess yet)

I hate conspiracy theories and opt for the explanation that answers the most questions in the most simple manner. Sounds reasonable, right? I think so.

Take, for example, the seemingly nefarious “Anonymous” attacks on Israel. A conspiracy of ”community” of superhackers? Hardly.

The explanation that answers the most questions is that Anonymous is to be equated in much of its leadership for this operation with الموساد that is, with המוסד that is, with “the Institute”, that is, in transliteration, the Mossad, which is charged with protecting the Jewish community right around the world (not an easy job). Playing on the other side of the fence is what they do best. For instance, the bodyguard of Saddam Hussain was from the Mossad.

So, why shouldn’t Anonymous leadership for this operation be by and large equated with the Mossad? In this way, you get to know all the stupid hackers in the world and either hire them or decommission their activities. It happens all the time. Everyone does this kind of thing.

O.K., so that fits just a bit too neatly, right? Yes, well, you have to know, Israel is just a bit nervous right now, and rightly so. Did the Obama admin really set up the Benghazi debacle as payback for Osama bin Laden? Or was this, as one reader pointed out, a way to cover-up a U.S. arms shipment to al-Qaeda rebels in Syria, something which would not bode well for the future existence of Israel?

And, oh, it’s just too easy to “belong” to Anonymous, isn’t it? Figures. But anyway, racking up tens of millions of attacks doesn’t take long for just a few people who know what they are doing. So, if you’re a hacker and you’ve joined Anonymous, you had better run! You’ve been had!

Let the injustice stop by promoting justice. Mere ideology doesn’t get anyone anywhere but dead. Innocent people die when situations are aggravated by ideologues. Really. It needs to stop.

Oh, wait. Too late. That’s past tense. You’ve been had, and now some of your special Anonymous friends all want to see where you are going to run. And here you thought you could trust them.

Look, I’m the first one to say that violence that is unjust against Gaza or anyone else is, in fact, unjust. And… and… Israel has a right not to be wiped off the map of the earth. But should Israel avoid injustice? Of course.

Just to let you know, when those nefarious words of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad about Israel not being on any more maps were spoken some years ago, I was in Rome, and went over to the Iranian Embassy that very evening to be with the Jewish community of Rome, and there spoke with the Chief Rabbi. He and so many others very much appreciated this priest (in cassock) there with them in solidarity. I still am.

Do I turn my back on the horrific injustices taking place in Gaza and the Occupied Territory? Not at all. Injustice is the most certain way to bring about terrorism. There’s no excuse for terrorism, which is aimed at the innocent, but this is the way fallen human nature works.

So why guess at the identity of Anonymous? Because the Mossad has already gotten about as much traction as they are going to get with all this (it only takes some hours for this last bit with Israel), and this is a distraction from what really is important for Israel, that is, what is what is going on in the present U.S. admin. Oh, wait. That’s what they’re really looking into.

Violent atheists, Holy Souls Hermitage and the Executive Office of the POTUS. Why now? Again?

This is the avitar of “Robert”, over at the Executive Office of the President of the United States. Pleasant, huh?

POTUS Barack Hussein Obama has stooped to a new low, hiring a team of militant hate-bloggers to attack religious freedom from the Executive Office of the President of the United States of America.

The tax-payer funded computers and offices used are but a stone’s throw from the Oval Office, precisely at 725 17th St NW:

I received what seemed to be an innocuous comment from a self-proclaimed atheist, who was wanting to know more about a nine year old’s perspective inasmuch as the faith of that little boy shut the mouths of many an atheist in one of my parishes some years ago. I would have thought this was a sincere inquiry, and was pleased to let the nine year old be a voice of reason and religion in the public square that is filled with so many atheists who are, instead, insincere. So, in view of that little boy, I answered that atheist’s comment on that post as best I could HERE.

It wasn’t very long before HSH became the object of a nefarious attack, though this was short lived:

“Hah!” quoth I, as I set to look for possible answers as to why such a thing would happen. I took a gander at the IPv4 address of the atheist’s comment, and then did a search on a run of the mill blog stats program which is running in the background overseas for just such events as this. I easily found the IPv4, in tandem with another within the same assigned range [click to enlarge (the bits in bold are my additional notes)]:

It’s like a “look what I found and now you take care of it” situation. As it is, I found that these IPv4 addresses frequently work  in tandem. Surely, thought I at first, “Executive Office of the President” meant that these athiest guys were, like, the president and ilk of the local gardening club. But, no, that wasn’t it. I did a bit more searching…

But there’s more. “Hey!” quoth I. “These guys got a blog that they were trying to advertise on my blog, providing the real reason behind the comment, right? Advertising one’s website or blog is not a required field in the comment form. I visited that blog. Sigh.

All this time I was thinking that this was all on the up and up. You know, just another atheist guy on a coffee-break in the president’s office, sincerely checking out my blog, letting himself be challenged by the nine year old boy who believes in Jesus. I mean, I think I must have half the offices of the Department of Defense reading such posts as this on my blog during their coffee breaks, so, why not the White House? Wrong. Going out of one’s way to advertise a blog address from the tax-payer funded Executive Office of the President of the USA is not an incompetent mistake; it’s a calculated move, right? They are paid to be careful, to do exactly what they are told. Obama has always made it clear that there will be no dissenter in his offices.

Obama’s Executive Office’s blog is a hate-blog, filled with world class and quite violent anti-religious-freedom hate-speech, all with your tax dollars! I wonder if anyone else is getting such visits from these IPv4 addresses…

The statements made by the hate bloggers have to be taken as a threat inasmuch as they emanate directly from the Office of the most powerful political force in the world. It’s a team of hate-bloggers hired from among the ever diminishing crowd of Obama sychophants. “Robert” (the blogger’s handle), mind you, has an M.A. from Georgetown (sigh), so he must know what he’s talking about as an official spokesman for the President, right? Let’s take a look at some of the statements on the blog, with my emphases and [comments]:

  • “Although gay marriage doesn’t touch most atheists directly, I know many follow its triumphs and setbacks like sports fans follow their favorite teams.  The reason I suspect is because opposition to gay marriage encapsulates like no other issue so many of the reasons why atheists reject religion and seek to diminish its influence in the public sphere.” [Sounds like Obama, looks like Obama, walks like Obama...]
  • “If anything, Stalin, Mao, and Hitler should serve warning to the dangers of religion, which equally seeks to impose a version of its own “unassailable” dogmas on the rest of us.” [Note that this guy, on his hate blog, lumps all religions in one bag, making the actions of one person of one religion the responsibility of all members of all religions. More than this, for him, all religious people, you know, like Mother Teresa, Ghandi, John Paul II... They're all like Stalin, Mao and Hitler. Ideas like that embraced by the President of the United States spells a violent shutdown of religion, and not only in the USA.]
  • “Remember: the sword you wield to force others to follow your morality can just as easily be wielded by someone else to force you to follow theirs.” [He's saying that Obama's government is threatening to hack religious people down, because religious people of whatever religion are guilty of, say, suicide bombing. Sounds like no one in the President's Office has read the Regensburg Address of Benedict XVI. But it's worse: If you don't pay into the Obama Abortion-Insurance Fund, you will fall under this threat.]

This guy, this team, of the Executive Office of the President of the United States of America, is out of control. And that’s what’s intended, right? The Executive Office of the President is a reflection of the Oval Office of the President.

I edited the blog address out of the approved comment, since, of course, error, as error, has no rights, particularly when error is being violent. I’m not about to point my readers to such trash as that. In this post, however, I have made an exception. If you want to see the intellectual level of these Obama sycophant lackeys, google some of the quoted phrases above. Inconsistences, contradictions, hypocrisies, really evil equivocations and out and out lying are everywhere to be seen. The subtitle to the blog, about embracing the tyranny of relativity on the most individual level says it all.

WHAT MAKES ME UPSET is the way way the Executive Office of the President of the United States of America is so willing to the use the sufferings of a little boy to advance its anti-religious freedom agenda. The POTUS hates the faith of this boy. The faith of this boy is a danger to the President, precisely because this little boy is a voice of goodness and kindness and truth and friendship. The President wants to get the voice of that little boy out of the public square, thinking that it is a danger to society to have someone like him speaking of goodness and kindness. Obama’s hate bloggers try to parade about under cover of anonymity. COWARDS! They kick the little boy in the face and run, squealing in glee! Of course, if other branches of the government that frequently visit this blog (NNIC, USAIC, DHS, etc.) wanted to provide the names of these guilty cowards to Congress, you know, for an investigation as to why it is that tax-payers have to pay for such anti-Constitution and cowardly acts against a boy’s faith, well, they have the means to find out who was sitting at which computer when, right? Right. We’re waiting. I mean, what is this: We’re actually paying for hate-bloggers in the Executive Office of the President of the United States to frighten children? This is America? Really?

3rd Presidential Debate — Why I think Romney was a clear winner

  • I got the impression that Romney’s foreign policy amounts to a laudable desire to help other nations develop peacefully, and to otherwise take a non-military leadership role in taking out islamicist death mongers in Iran/Syria and in other regions.
  • I got the impression that Obama’s foreign policy amounts to placing an emphasis on women’s rights at home and abroad, whatever the emergency of the day around the world happens to otherwise be. Women’s rights, of course, for Obama, means abortion, etc.

Am I wrong?

The Al Smith Dinner and the Martyrs’ Te Deum: Fisking Cardinal Dolan’s Speech

Yikes! V’s graphic at V’s sanctepater.com. Now, just to say…

The Al Smith Dinner was the un-Last Supper, in which the littlest ones, the un-born, were made all so un-important, you know, those un-born, who were ideologized as those who were mere differences in political platforms to be set aside for the evening’s jocular tyranny of relativism…

Sure, those littlest ones among us were given a wink and a nod of solidarity, but that only played into the hands of the number one enemy of the Church in the world today. The cameras never panned to the floor. Had they done so, you would have seen that they were all situated on a small mountain of babies’ corpses that had been bulldozed into the dining hall for the evening for the proper atmospherics.

The rest of us, who don’t understand such “prudence”*, will go to our deaths singing, please God, the Te Deum and, while the death camps send up their smoke and the glistening ashes settle upon America and environs, the compromisers with the world, the flesh and the devil will surmise that we are not going about the new evangelization in the right way, and from on high will despise our deaths as the result of incompetent consensus building. “If only they had known better!” they will exclaim as guests for the next Al Smith dinner are short-listed.

The Immaculate Conception’s Divine Son had His own way of going about making friends and influencing people, drawing all to Himself by way of truth provided in all charity, and this from the cross, the Sacrifice not of the Al Smith Dinner, but of the Last Supper.

That’s how to embrace those who are now redeemed and who need to be saved.

Our two candidates claim that both your parties, the Republicans and the Democrats, are “big tents,” containing extraordinarily diverse, even contrary, opposite people and groups.  Well, you don’t have a thing over the Catholic Church.  We got both Biden and Ryan! [Well, no. We don't. Biden has exclaimed time and again that he believes the doctrine of the Catholic Church that life begins at conception, and then goes on to push abortion from conception onward with all his energy, thuggery and buffoonery. This lifts him out of communion with the Church. He is ex-communicant with the Church. The only tent the Church has is the "tent", the Body, which our Lord took upon Himself for our redemption: Καὶ ὁ λόγος σὰρξ ἐγένετο, καὶ ἐσκήνωσεν ἐν ἡμῖν /// Et Verbum caro factum est, et habitavit in nobis /// And the Word became flesh, and pitched His tent among us. In having the un-born ripped to shreds, Biden is having our Lord ripped to shreds: "What you have done to the least of these, you have done to me. Biden is not in communion with the Catholic Church.]

Governor Romney, thank you for being up here sitting next to me; although I must confess I was secretly hoping the Republican candidate would be Governor Christie, because I sure would have looked good sitting next to him!

Mr. President I trust you’ll be able to report to Mrs. Obama that I ate my vegetables and salad.  If she had been “first lady” instead of Mamie Eisenhower when I was growing up in the 50’s, I wouldn’t be in this shape!

As you may know, I just returned from Rome a couple of hours ago, where I’m participating in the Synod of Bishops.  Thanks to Mr. Mort Zuckerman’s jet, I will be able to return to Rome right after the dinner. [Yours truly also is good friends with the Zuckerman crowd, who frequent this very blog. Imagine that. The point is, let's not be distracted with the who's who list for the dinner.]

By the way, just before I left this morning, Pope Benedict XVI asked me to deliver a special personal message to both candidates.  Mr. President, Governor Romney, do you know what the Holy Father asked me to tell you? . . . neither do I, because he said it in Latin. [This jocularity, though rightly siding with Mitt's incisive remark against Obama's abortifacient mandate and consonant slights of hand, relegates the gravity of what is happening with the persecution of the Catholic Church by Obama to the level of other jokes of the evening, such as the one which follows. The Cardinal will get more serious further below, when he launches into his "un"-speech. But we'll see what he does with that.]

Both candidates expressed shock that Mayor Bloomberg had a 16 ounce cup in front of him.  Not to worry, Your Honor — I explained to them that it was not a sugar-laden soft drink, but a martini.

The mayor might want to challenge that remark, but, I’m sorry Mr. Mayor, Candy Crowley has already said she agrees with me. [A great jab at the horrifically biased type of "moderator" presiding over the debates. But this was a kind of seamless garment bias.]

Only the Al Smith dinner could bring together two men, of the same calling, who disagree on almost everything, both of whom think they are the world’s experts on everything, who don’t like even being in the same room together: Roger Ailes and Chris Matthews.

The Al Smith Dinner . . . in thanking all of you for your presence and support, might I suggest that this annual dinner actually shows America and the Church at their best?

Here we are: in an atmosphere of civility and humor, hosted by a Church which claims that “joy is the infallible sign of God’s presence;” men and women; young and old; of every ethnic and racial background;

Democrats, Republicans, and Independents;

Catholics, Christians, Jews, Latter-Day Saints, people of no particular creed;

people of wealth, yes, but some folks as well who barely get by;

guests from Westchester and the Bronx; Dutchess County and Staten Island;

Grateful to be people of faith and loyal Americans;

Loving a country which considers religious liberty our first and most cherished freedom, convinced that faith is not just limited to an hour of Sabbath worship, but affects everything we do and dream;

privileged to be in the company of two honorable men [So, Obama was provided the honor by the Cardinal not just of being entitled "your honor" but calling him, in fact, honorable], both called to the noble vocation of public service, whose love for God and country is surpassed only by their love for their own wives and children [That statement just doesn't work any way you put it, does it?], and who, as happy as I hope they are to be here with us tonight, would rather be home with Michelle, Ann, and their families.

All of us reverently recalling a man of deep Catholic faith and ringing patriotism, who had a tear in his Irish eyes for what we would call, the “uns;”

– the un-employed

– the un-insured

– the un-wanted

– the un-wed mother, and her innocent, fragile un-born baby in her womb; [That's great, about the original Al Smith of yore, but I don't think he would appreciate what happened on this evening, the selling out of un-born in favor of niceness.]

– the un-documented

– the un-housed

– the un-healthy

– the un-fed

– the under-educated.

Government, Al Smith believed, should be on the side of these “uns,” but a government partnering with family, Church, parish, neighborhood, organizations and community, never intruding or opposing, since, when all is said and done, it’s in God we trust, not, ultimately, in government or politics.

Al Smith . . . the “happy warrior” on behalf of the “uns” who were so close to Jesus, or to the Native American Kateri Tekakwitha, and the “Angel to the Lepers of Hawaii,” Sister Mary Anne Cope, both women of New York whom this Sunday Pope Benedict will declare saints; so tenderly close to Bl. Mother Theresa of Calcutta who reminded us of the “five- finger gospel” — “As often as you do it for one of these, the least of my brethren, you do it for me!” [Just a reminder, your Eminence: Mother Teresa never had fund-raisers, ever. She was even known to refuse millions of dollars, telling the would-be donor to help those in need personally, since merely throwing money at anyone won't help anyone. Moreover, her "dialogue", consonant with that of the Holy Father, was to unabashedly bring pro-abort politicians to task. Remember the prayer breakfast -- another meal[!] — when she trounced Clinton and Gore and the whole pro-abort establishement, not with jocularity, but with a deadly serious lecture, televised for all the world to see. Let’s review, shall we? You yourself quoted Mother Teresa from this very video. What she did is what dialogue with pro-abort policians is all about, NOT what happened at the Al Smith dinner:]

It is in quotes in context since I don’t think that the judgment to invite Obama was correct. Prudence is not a free for all, a tyranny of relativism in which everyone has the right to be wrong.

Father Z nails the cynicism of the DNC and Obama

My understand is that, when the Dems were drafting their platform, they purposely excluded any mention of Jerusalem in regard to Israel and they [ex]cluded any mention of God.

Talk about inept.  Talk about leaving a bad impression.

Unless… unless….

I now understand that Pres. Obama – get this – ordered his staff to have the platform language changed to include God and affirm Jerusalem as the proper capital of Israel.  A campaign source confirmed this.

That means that Obama gets all the credit without believing any of it.  His heroic intervention to drag the platform back from the fringe to the center, will help him with the Jewish vote AND the Catholic left.  Impact will be felt in Ohio and Florida.

I suspect the whole thing was a setup.  They did this ON PURPOSE so that Obama could intervene.

I think Father Z got it dead right. The Jewish vote is largely Democratic, except for the Orthodox. The non-Orthodox were terribly humiliated, but then saved face with Obama’s intervention. But did they? I think that they should think again. If Father Z is correct, that means that the cynicism of the DNC and Obama is such that what happens to Israel and to believers just doesn’t matter. For such things can be twisted for the sake of a vote. And if they can, such decisions can reversed again. So why is the Jewish vote still behind Obama and the Democratic party? Why would anyone vote for someone who can do such things?

Nancy Pelosi actually equates Planned Parenthood and the U.S. Government. Treasonous subversion. A coup d’état. Dictatorship by Planned Parenthood.

Look, whatever you think about abortion and abortifacient contraception (the pill), when the leadership of the Democratic Party and leadership of the present administration equate any private enterprise, any small group of individuals, with the actual government of the United States, what we’re seeing is the hijacking of the U.S.A.

The government is no longer of the people, by the people, for the people. It is now a dictatorship of a private enterprise.

This is treasonous subversiveness. A coup d’état. Dictatorship by Planned Parenthood.

Or maybe Nancy’s not feeling well.

But someone higher up than her had to put that in her brain, don’t you think?

That obligation, they are quick to point out, does NOT include protecting the government and it’s administration when that government and administration are acting in contradiction to the constitution of the U.S.A., such that the very existence of the United States as we know it is being undone by that government and administration.

The KKK has always demonstrated even deadly violence against three groups:

(3) The Orthodox Jews in the U.S.A. are so frightened of Obama’s hatred for freedom of religion, that they say they are Catholic with us Catholics on this point of religious freedom. They understand that if we Catholics don’t have religious freedom, neither will they. They already know what that means.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on a Democratic National Convention (DNC) event hosted by Catholics for Choice (CFC):

If the Ku Klux Klan were hosting a panel discussion on racial relations at the Republican National Convention, the Republicans would rightly be condemned for doing so. But no price will be paid by the Democrats for allowing the most notoriously anti-Catholic organization in the nation, Catholics for Choice, to host a panel on religious liberty. “Keeping the Faith in the Democratic Party: Protecting Religious Liberty for Everyone” is scheduled to meet between 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. today.

Catholics for Choice (formerly Catholics for a Free Choice) is not simply a pro-abortion group: it is decisively anti-Catholic. Twice condemned by the bishops’ conference, its stated goal, according to its previous head, Frances Kissling, is to “overthrow” the Catholic Church. The current president, Jon O’Brien, has been equally vicious in his statements against Catholicism. He has been preoccupied this year opposing the religious liberty campaign organized by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Thus the perversity of having him command a panel discussion on religious liberty at the DNC.

In 1995, Marjorie Reiley Maguire, who for years worked closely with the leadership of CFC, branded it “an anti-woman organization” staffed by people who never go to Mass. Lavishly funded by the likes of the Ford Foundation, it would collapse if it had to rely on Catholic contributions—or even non-Catholic individuals—for support.

Speaking at today’s event will be activists from a CFC-organized umbrella group, the Coalition for Liberty & Justice. Several of the groups that comprise this entity have hijacked the Catholic label in service of their anti-Catholic agenda. They include: CORPUS, DignityUSA, New Ways Ministry and the Women’s Ordination Conference. An array of radical left-wing groups with a history of Catholic bashing will also be on hand.

In other words, the DNC’s idea of religious liberty means welcoming anti-Catholic bigots to deliver their message of hate.

Monstrous Pro-Abortion Child-Abuser Democrats Scream at 11-Year-Old Pro-Life Girl at Democratic National Convention in Charlotte

I want you to meet my friend and fellow abortion abolitionist, 11-year-old Zoe Griffin. In a world when grown adults ignore, deny or just don’t care about the abortion holocaust that has claimed over 55 Million of Zoe’s generation, she is willing to take a stand no matter what people think. Zoe joined her mother and friends to lay thousands of roses outside the site of the democratic convention and pray for the babies, the politicians and this generation.

While Zoe was praying, pro-abortion activists who claim to stand up for women began to belittle and scream at Zoe for her stand for life. What is so sad is that one of the women who did this to Zoe, Sunsara Taylor, is a well know anti-porn activist who claims to be against the degradation of women. I could write a lot about this and how much I am sickened by what happened, but I wanted to let Zoe tell you in her own words how what happened and why she will never quit being a Stand True Activist. Praise God for young women like Zoe, she is why this is the generation who will abolish abortion. Here is Zoe’s account:

“Hi, I’m Zoe. Something happened Friday night that a friend wanted me to blog about. I don’t have Facebook or Twitter or anything like that so I’m borrowing my mom’s page for now. “What happened was a pro-life rally. We had showed up when only 4 people were there. I guess we were supposed to get there early. As more and more people came, a car arrived. A woman came out and opened the trunk. There were 3,300 carnations in the back of that car. We started to unload and unwrap the flowers. Lily, Bella, and I started to write pro-life statements with chalk on the sidewalks when some pro-abortionists came.

They were holding signs and chanting: “A baby’s not a baby till it comes out, that’s what birthdays are all about!” They were blowing whistles and jumping around acting like 5-year-old children. I was so sad that these people were so blinded I started crying. Then we started laying down the flowers all across the sidewalk. When we finished, the line of carnations was probably a mile long. A pro-life woman let me hold a crucifix that she had. I started clutching it close to my heart. My knees were shaking, so were my hands.

“The pro-abortionists turned to us and started pointing at different people, saying, “You’re a person! You’re a person! Fetuses are not!” Then the woman saw me crying and said,” You are making this girl cry with your bull____”. I couldn’t stand any more of those lies. They pushed it too far. In the highest-pitched voice I have ever spoken in, I screamed, “THEY ARE NOT THE ONES MAKING ME CRY! YOU ARE! WITH YOUR DARK HEARTS, YOUR DARK MINDS TURNED AGAINST GOD!” My mom ran over to me, put her hand on my shoulder, and calmed me down. Then she went up to them and said, “HOW DARE YOU ATTACK A CHILD LIKE THAT!” While she was yelling, pro-lifers came over to me to calm me down. My whole body was shaking. Our friend, Mrs. McKinney, took me, Jack, and Bella to a CVS that was nearby. We got water and chips and went back. I sat down on a bench when a man from the Charlotte Observer came over to me and started interviewing me. Once he was done, a man came over and gave us ice cream. While I was eating, the pro-abortionists left. Then we started to clean up.

“On the way home I felt sorry that I yelled at those people. I told my mom, and she said, “Do you know why you feel that way? It’s because you have a heart. You have a conscience, and you know what’s right and what’s wrong. Those people attacked you like that because they don’t have a heart.” I will never, ever forget what happened last night. I had a dream that night that they all converted to pro-life activists. I hope that dream becomes a reality.”

Updated again… Obamacare enforcement: “Catholics ought to immitate the submissive cooperation of the Jews” in their final solution

You spooky friends of mine (CIA, FBI, DHS…) ought to check out the fellow who was seated next to me on my U.S. Air flight from Paris to Charlotte on 26 July, 2012. All seats were assigned except for mine, until the last second.

The last time I was not assigned a seat was back in 1984, on my way to war torn Managua from Miami, on route to the Bluefields Vicariate. It was an open seating, first-come first-served situation. Though I and a friend were one of the first in line, we weren’t allowed on the half-empty plane, given the excuse that the plane was already full! The next day, it looked like we were to be refused again, but then a gentleman arrived and we were given assigned seating, with that gentleman between us. It turns out that he was CIA agent who wanted to know what we were doing going to such a country just then. He was very courteous, figuring us out, and gave us some expensive liquor to give to the great Cardinal of Managua, which we did.

Now, on the flight from Paris the other day, a way overbooked flight with all assigned seating, I did not have an assigned seat, even though there were some 100 people behind me in line. My boarding gate was changed to the “Envoy” gate. Just as I was about to board the plane, the airport speaker system announced my name. With that, I was told to go to a certain counter of another gate on the far side of that part of the terminal. There I was provided with a special ticket, this time with assigned seating. Next to my seat was a gentelman who, instead of sitting with his wife, he said, up in the front of the plane, came to sit next to me in a just-happened-to-be-vacant seat of a terribly overbooked flight. His excuse was that his wife was sick. Maybe the fellow who was supposed to be next to me had to sit next to his sick wife! All just coincidence, surely…

Anyway, this fellow is the present chairman of a super-NGO affecting untold numbers of run of the mill NGOs and a multitude of directly vetted and chosen individuals of countries around the world, all of them hyper-influential people. His super-NGO makes it it’s business to very effectively steer perspectives of countries and regions of countries with large sums of money as bait, though making this appear to be a grassroots initiative. No debate. No room for inititive. All participants must be sycophants, of which there are many in this world, apparently. This fellow liked to talk, so he couldn’t but mention now and again the branches of the U.S. government which had a direct, dicisive interest in his activities. Of course, I also like to ask questions and make comments that are bound to get things out of people, but I digress. In effect, he was happy to be a government pawn, changing his decades old, prestigious super-NGO into a willing puppet of the Obama administration.

He reeked of a liberalism which gets nervous around principled people. The stakes were jacked up in the conversation (perhaps five hours total), every time he realized I was more studied up in whatever direction the conversation wandered, for instance, into liberation theology (my teacher having been Gustavo himself). Soon he let himself repeat all the lines of Obama and the HHS, for instance about Catholics illegally “forcing” others not to contracept because Catholics didn’t want to pay for abortifacients. He insisted that the common good of encouraging sex followed by abortion had to be protected by the government, even if that meant forcing Catholics to go against their consciences, having them pay for the misbehavior of others.

When I brought up the great film of this Summer called “Cristeros”, about the self-defence of the Catholics who were getting slaughtered in Mexico in their tens of thousands as their religious rights were being trampled, he came out with the line in the title of this post: “Catholics ought to immitate the submissive cooperation of the Jews in their final solution.” He said this with a tone of voice that indicated praise for the Jews who so nicely went along with their own executioners. Get it, my Jewish friends? If you don’t help us Catholics now, don’t think it will not happen to you as well, all over again. This has got to stop, and it’s got to stop now. He’s just as willing to kill Jews right now as he is willing to kill Catholics. Get it? What kind of influence is he spreading with your tax dollars?

Now, if I was at a real computer, I would check out this fellow who was sitting next to me on the plane. But I’m not. But some of you reading this post are. Help us Catholics. Help the Jews. It’ll give you work, but that’s good, no?

Updated again (27 August 2012): You’ve surely heard the stupid saying that religion is responsible for all violence in the world. That’s usually said as a throwaway line by atheist knuckleheads who have an axe to grind against whatever member of the Church, somehow speaking to the violence that they would like to do as revenge against any real or perceived stupidity by that individual. Well, take an advance course in all this:

The other day I went into a business and was asked how I was doing, and how my trip overseas went. I said fine, except that I had the strangest conversation with a gentleman on the return flight. I told the story above. Both examples, mind you, as above, were about the Nazi government killing off all the Jews and about the Socialist government of Mexico slaughtering the Catholics  in the earlier part of last century.

The response was to ask me whether I was a Catholic priest. I said yes, and that it is difficult, isn’t it, to know it someone wearing a Roman Collar is really just a Lutheran or Anglican “priest”. The response to my saying that I’m a Catholic priest was to say that religion is responsible for all the violence in the world. Get that? The hatred against Catholics and those of any religion has been jacked up recently. What’s going on?

Just to say, huge persecutions have been taking place in this most bloodiest, violent, hellish past century. And it’s still going on. It may be that America will be next. There are those who hate religion, who hate life. They should be voted out of office. But most importantly, there is prayer: Oh Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. And… Our Father…

I think I might mention all this to the Jewish community in Brevard. They use Sacred Heart Catholic Church. I mean, how can we forget the horror, and who did it? Here’s the video I made, once again, of the names of the children being read out at the Yad vaShem Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem:

HSH fisks Cardinal Dolan’s invite of Obama to the Al Smith Dinner

Last week I was out in Anaheim for the annual Supreme Convention of the Knights of Columbus. It was, as usual, a most uplifting and inspirational event.

In his rousing address to the thousands of delegates, representing 1.8 million knights, Dr. Carl Anderson, the Supreme Knight, exhorted us to a renewed sense of faithful citizenship, encouraging us not to be shy about bringing the values of faith to the public square. This duty, he reminded us, came not just from the fact that we are Catholic, but also from the fact that we are loyal Americans.

He then went on to announce a promising initiative of the Knights of Columbus to foster civility in politics. Quoting a very recent study, he noted that over 80% of Americans are fed up with the negativity, judgmentalism, name-calling, and mudslinging of our election-year process, and eagerly want a campaign of respect, substance, amity — civility! [I don't think even one person has argued against this. And I'm not sure if the claim of K of C authority is warranted. We just want some respect for the millions of babies that are being killed. Calling abortion wrong both in season and out of season is not negativity or judgmentalism, etc.]

For seven decades, the Al Smith Dinner here in New York has been an acclaimed example of such civility in political life. As you may know, every four years, during the presidential election campaign, the Al Smith Dinner is the venue of history, as it is the only time outside of the presidential debates that the two presidential candidates come together, at the invitation of the Al Smith Foundation, through the archbishop of New York, for an evening of positive, upbeat, patriotic, enjoyable civil discourse ["discourse"]. This year, both President Obama and Governor Romney have accepted our invitation. I am grateful to them.

The evening has always had a special meaning, as it is named after Governor Al Smith, the first Catholic nominated, in 1928, as a candidate for president, who was viciously maligned because of his own Catholic faith. Smith was known as The Happy Warrior, because while he fought fiercely for what he believed was right, he never sought to demonize those who opposed him. [People can do that on their own. No help needed.] And, the dinner named in his honor is truly life-affirming as it raises funds to help support mothers in need and their babies (both born and unborn) of any faith, or none at all. [It has always been the policy of the Archdiocese to support, for instance, houses for unwed mothers, while at the same time giving abortion referrals. This is not a case of double-effect either. Nor is there any "duress".]

The Al Smith Dinner has never been without controversy, since, as Carl Anderson reminded us, politics can inspire disdain and negativity as well as patriotism and civility.

This year is surely no exception [But there is quite a difference this year, isn't there?]: I am receiving stacks of mail protesting the invitation to President Obama (and by the way, even some objecting to the invitation to Governor Romney).

The objections are somewhat heightened this year, since the Catholic community in the United States has rightly expressed vigorous criticism of the President’s support of the abortion license, and his approval of mandates which radically intruded [and continue to intrude] upon Freedom of Religion. We bishops, including yours truly, have been unrelenting in our opposition to these issues, and will continue to be. [Let's see...]

So, my correspondents ask, how can you justify inviting the President? Let me try to explain.

For one, an invitation to the Al Smith Dinner is not an award, or the provision of a platform to expound views at odds with the Church [But it is an honor, right?]. It is an occasion of conversation ["conversation"]; it is personal, not partisan. [We are always personal, never partisan. Nor is this a matter of Catholic "opinion". This is about the Natural Law.]

Two, the purpose of the Al Smith Dinner is to show both our country and our Church at their best: people of faith gathered in an evening of friendship, civility, and patriotism, to help those in need, not to endorse either candidate [That would be nice if the politicians were only politicians, that is, one arguing about the need for more infrastructure, and the other talking about the overriding need for fixing the economy. But this is about millions of innocent lives being killed off and the ongoing oppression of the Catholic Church, right here, right now.]. Those who started the dinner sixty-seven years ago believed that you can accomplish a lot more by inviting folks of different political loyalties to an uplifting evening, rather than in closing the door to them. [Post WWII wasn't about aborting the nation and world, was it? I think there was a baby-boom at the time.]

Three, the teaching of the Church, so radiant in the Second Vatican Council, is that the posture of the Church towards culture, society, and government is that of engagement [the constant rhetoric, even in the present note, is precisely that the engagement is lifted for the night] and dialogue [not only is there not dialogue on this night, the Obama administration called in Cardinal Dolan in the past only after all was said and done.]. In other words, it’s better to invite than to ignore, more effective to talk together than to yell from a distance, more productive to open a door than to shut one. [Hey! Great! But what's happening on this night? and what's otherwise happening?] Our recent popes have been examples of this principle, receiving dozens of leaders with whom on some points they have serious disagreements [Takes a lot of nerve to say that. Look, Pope John Paul II and Benedict XVI receive such horrific people only to tell them what's what. Forget the jocularity and fun evenings and even dialogue. They are just told flat out what the truth is in all charity. Period.]. Thus did our present Holy Father graciously receive our current President of the United States [More to that than that. Really.]. And, in the current climate, we bishops have maintained that we are open to dialogue with the administration to try and resolve our differences. [Great!] What message would I send if I refused to meet with the President? [In other words, what the Cardinal saying, and this is very sad indeed, and I'm only recognizing this as I'm writing this now, is that the President has refused to dialogue about anything on any serious level with Cardinal Dolan, such an evening being as far as Obama will go. The Cardinal gets no dialogue. Nice words from Obama on that evening will just be spitting in the face of the Cardinal, and, through him, on the face of the Church. Meanwhile, Obama can claim to be great friends with the Catholic Church.]

Finally, an invitation to the Al Smith Dinner in no way indicates a slackening in our vigorous promotion of values we Catholic bishops believe to be at the heart of both gospel and American values, particularly the defense of human dignity, fragile life, and religious freedom. [Happy to hear that, but, I mean, it sure does seem to indicate a relativization of all important matters.] In fact, one could make the case that anyone attending the dinner, even the two candidates, would, by the vibrant [vibrant: abortion stops a beating heart. Dead. Cold. Not vibrant.] solidarity [with who? with what?] of the evening, be reminded that America is at her finest when people, free to exercise their religion, assemble on behalf of poor women and their babies, born and unborn, in a spirit of civility and respect. [There can be the exact opposite effect: "These Catholics really don't give a damn about life. They give a great pre-election photo-op though!"]

Some have told me the invitation is a scandal. [I agree.] That charge weighs on me, as it would on any person of faith, but especially a pastor, who longs to give good example, never bad. So, I apologize if I have given such scandal. [It's not scheduled until 18 October, very near Super Tuesday. You can still back out.] I suppose it’s a case of prudential judgment: would I give more scandal by inviting the two candidates, or by not inviting them? [In view of all the comments above, it would be a scandal to invite them.]

No matter what you might think of this particular decision, might I ask your prayers for me and my brother bishops and priests who are faced with making these decisions, so that we will be wise and faithful shepherds as God calls us to be? [Sure. That's what HSH is all about. Pray for me, too.]

In the end, I’m encouraged by the example of Jesus [Uh-oh...], who was blistered by his critics for dining with those some considered sinners [Can any true Christian think that Obama is a Christian in good standing? Let's just say it. The "sinners" Jesus ate with were no longer sinners. They converted and were His followers, repentant and now saints. They were not obstinately persecuting the Church and were not maniacs about aborting millions of children. Really.]; and by the recognition that, if I only sat down with people who agreed with me, and I with them, or with those who were saints, I’d be taking all my meals alone. [Just. Wow. Nobody but nobody is saying any of that. Ask what the evening is about. Ask what dialogue is about. It has been said a thousand times that the evening has nothing to do with serious dialogue or instruction in the truth in all charity for that matter. So, then, what is it about, a very credible photo-op for Obama? 18 October is the date. Plenty of time to rescind the invitation.]

The spirit of Susan B. Anthony just now appeared to this Hermit-Priest!!!

Smith Memorial Foundation for inviting the most anti-family, anti-woman, anti-life, anti-Catholic President in the history of the nation to at least have a seat at the table. She went on to say that the warning of Pope Benedict XVI that the threat to religious liberty in the United States is unprecedented is a warning best ignored in favor of a laughter which relativizes the deaths of millions of unborn and just born, which relativizes the very real persecution of the Catholic Church that began 1 August 2012. She insisted that Jesus’ sharp condemnations of hypocrites at the very dinners to which He was invited are totally irrelevant to our niceness today. Although she was saddened that Catholic endorsement of Obama will not come with words, the actions which speak louder than any words were a consolation to her. ///end sarcasm

EXPLANATION: In the past few decades it’s been increasingly popular, now as never before, to hold that if one can make it appear that one is “distanced” from the evil that one is doing, so that public perception of the actually and none-the-less scandalously evil behavior is pretended to be minimized (regardless of whether it is or not), then it doesn’t matter what one is doing, since one’s intention is assumed to be… nice. Thus, the director of health care for a famous Archdiocese in the Eastern United States said some years ago that it would be just fine to do abortions in Catholic Hospitals since this was an outpatient procedure, and that, therefore, the Hospital itself really had nothing to do with it in public perception. Get it?

When you read rationalizations for bizarre things that happen, keep the “distancing” thing in mind. You’ll see it again and again and again. I hope that when I go before the Lord for judgment, He will not say to me: “Get away from me! Distance yourself from me, you evil doer!” Our Lord doesn’t pay the least bit of attention to distances and appearances. Come to think of it, no one else does either.

(CNSNews.com) House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) told a recent gathering of the Women’s Political Committee that the spirits of suffragists Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Alice Paul spoke to her at the White House.

Pelosi said she heard them say: “At last we have a seat at the table…”

Pelosi says, “He’s (Bush) saying something to the effect of we’re so glad to welcome you here, congratulations and I know you’ll probably have some different things to say about what is going on–which is correct. But, as he was saying this, he was fading and this other thing was happening to me.”

“My chair was getting crowded in,” said Pelosi. “I swear this happened, never happened before, it never happened since.

“My chair was getting crowded in and I couldn’t figure out what it was, it was like this,” she said.

“And then I realized Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, Alice Paul, Sojourner Truth, you name it, they were all in that chair, they were,” said Pelosi. “More than I named and I could hear them say: ‘At last we have a seat at the table.’ And then they were gone…”

Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton were activists in the women’s rights movement during the mid to late 1800’s. The Susan B. Anthony List, which works for pro-life women’s leadership in government, uses her as a namesake. The organization claims Anthony and Stanton were strong pro-life supporters.

Holy Souls Hermitage comment: In other words, these abolitionists, suffragists, women’s rights activists, etc., couldn’t possibly give a damn about the genocide by way of abortion that is being wrecked on the black population (13 million in the USA) by the Obama administration, particularly Pelosi herself. “At least we have a seat at the table.” That’s precisely the kind of hypocrisy they would deplore and fought against.

If Pelosi is being sincere about her account of this visitation, and was not stark raving mad at the time, these visitors would not be the souls of these women appearing to her.

  • They would certainly not be coming from heaven to rationalize maniac abortion promoter Pelosi’s “seat at the table.”
  • They would certainly not be coming from hell, as the souls of the damned cannot appear in this world (as I noted in this post of the exorcism series in the sidebar widget of holysoulshermitage blog). Indeed, that would be an insult to all the women she mentioned.
  • So, instead, these would be images created by minions of the Father of Lies, to whom Pelosi has been giving her ear ever so very willingly.
  • And if Pelosi is simply doing a bit of political posturing so as to grab the new-age crowd for the upcoming election, her lies open her up to her being ever so easily manipulated by Satan.
