Rorate Caeli put up a diatribe against Pope Francis.
After their informant rants like all the fires of hell against the anointed of the Lord with all sorts of innuendos (and one should be careful about that), the ultimate statement to which everything culminates in all ferocious spittle-flecked fury is this:
“He has no manners to honor the Pontifical Throne.”
Really?
That’s like me! I would be such a donkey, braying badly. Shucks.
It’s almost as if to say, it seems: “Damned be the Holy Spirit, who has no power to work on anyone, ever, and so we are in bitter despair!”
One should be careful about this knee-jerk reactionary rubbish. It does the Church and the salvation of souls no good, no good at all.
Let us pray! With enthusiasm!
UPDATE: Also, just to say, if a priest came to me with that much bitterness, he would be the very last one I would want for a face for the Extraordinary Form. Of course, I would know that that would make him all the more bitter, but that wouldn’t be my fault. I would want to have any priest who offers the Extraordinary Form be helpful and enthusiastic in every way. That makes things easy. But with this kind of attitude. Just. No. If we want the Extraordinary Form everywhere, don’t do something like Rorate Caeli just did, striking out right from the get-go. That’s just not the way to go about things. Really. I know. I’ve been in extremely difficult situations in Lourdes, etc., but got the TLM going there, also in the Josephinum. But these guys…? Just. Wow.

Accompany me, Father George David Byers, S.S.L., S.T.D., as I begin life as a Catholic Priest-Hermit by choice. Holy Souls Hermitage is dedicated to the sanctification of my fellow priests, bishops, deacons & seminarians going through the purgatory of this life or the next. Prayer and sacrifice go up, of course, for both Benedict XVI and the next Successor of Saint Peter.

Some of the comments made at Rorate Caeli are unsettling. Have you read them?
Denise: That’s why I made the comment.
LifeSiteNews.com has some very favorable things to say about our new pope.
Thanks for this post. I’ve just been reading all that, and began a nervous breakdown flu and didn’t want to do so.
God bless you, Fr. George.
Who the heck is Rorate Caeli and why should anyone listen to them? Fr. Sera
Glad you posted this and the update. My sentiments exactly. This is why so many people hate those of us who attend the EF. Very discouraging. But I think they would have done this to anyone who was elected. Not that that excuses them.
Looking at Rorate Caeli, it’s that sort of unsubstantiated prejudice that gives journalism a bad name.
is “Rorate Caeli” some kind of powerful organization within the Church?
But these guys…? Just. Wow,..indeed! Here’s my question, how can Lex orandi, lex credendi regarding the EF possibly be true based on some of the witness, diatribe and comments found at Rorate Caeli?
I use to read Rorate. They have become increasingly erratic over recent months. This was the last straw for me
Thanks again Father! Rorate Caeli has depressed me all day!

Father, just an FYI

Good catch, Denise!
Rorate is usually a good site. The commentators on the otherhand are best left unread!
AkP: However, they ran a piece defending Father Guarnizo againt the canonical accuser, who got the canonical accuser to back off in their comments box, and I thought that that was one of the best things I ever read. I wish I knew who that canon lawyer was whose article they ran!
On the other hand, I remember once I was condemned in their comments box as the priest who said the TLM in Lourdes with an American accent. Hey hey hey. I’m American!
Look, I have nothing against anybody in the sense that I think they want to do the right thing, but they get lost pretty easily when under pressure. I do think they need to toughen up a bit. Of course, I say that, being the weakest of all. They may have the occasional splinter in their eye while I have a whole forest. Perhaps that’s why I live in a forest. It makes it seem normal!
The Traditionalist followers of the Abbe de Nantes hoped for Cardinal Bergoglio last conclave. They expect him to be a new St. Pius X. http://crc-internet.org/2284-gentle-and-humble-anticipation-is-a-new-saint-pius-x-coming.html
Peter: Interesting! Pius X came from a very humble background, and had no “manners” fit for the pontificate, as they say. Heh heh heh.

“It is not fitting, when one is in God’s service, to have a gloomy face or a chilling look.” — St. Francis of Assisi
“From silly devotions and sour-faced saints, good Lord, deliver us.” — St. Teresa of Avila
The Holy Spirit will put this to rest, have no fear! Pope Francis is truly the Lord’s choice!
