Not your typical Jesuit, he thinks priest-Marxists, especially among the Jesuits, are nefarious. He just might start cleaning up the Jesuits! He was on the Commission on Latin America.
He’s vociferously pro-life, pro-one-man-one-woman-marriage, anti-homosexual “marriage” and anti-adoption by homosexuals. Great!

Accompany me, Father George David Byers, S.S.L., S.T.D., as I begin life as a Catholic Priest-Hermit by choice. Holy Souls Hermitage is dedicated to the sanctification of my fellow priests, bishops, deacons & seminarians going through the purgatory of this life or the next. Prayer and sacrifice go up, of course, for both Benedict XVI and the next Successor of Saint Peter.

Bergoglio, as a archbishop of Buenos Aires, did several prety weird things. But now he is Pope Francis. May God be with him. If he becomes a good sheppherd, thank’s God, we don’t deserve; if not, we sinners deserve it.
We all do things we regret, Luciano. ALL of us. If anything was serious — and I don’t know if there is any need to rehash things — we can also think of Bishop and Martyr Thomas Becket, who changed WAY for the better when he took the office of Archbishop. Yikes!

Exactly!
God Bless.
Thanks for this post, Father. To be honest, when they said he was a Jesuit, I started to get really scared. After I heard him speak, for some reason all the fright disappeared.
We have had an antipope become pope, so let’s just agree that there have been “flawed” people who became pope. We just have to keep in mind that these are men, who are capable of sin and missteps like the rest of us. Nevertheless, I feel Pope Francis is the man for the times, chosen by our Lord to do amazing things. I would wager on it. God bless!
Father FInigan has repeated what St Francis was told by Our Lord “Francis, Go and rebuild my Church, which you can see has fallen into ruin.” [ http://the-hermeneutic-of-continuity.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/rebuild-my-church.html ]
God Bless.
I had that exact same thought, right away! Maybe this Pope will also rebuild the Church, please God.
In light of the Cardinal O’Brien situation, he may not be able to be as forthright as before. A quick test of his communication skills!
To have faith is to know all things are as they should be. Man makes mistakes but the Vicar of Christ when speaking in areas of Faith and the Church is Infallible.
Blessings to all on this Great Day
