Hmmm….. This just isn’t right. This just isn’t right at all.

about best catholic blog 5

In your voting for These Stone Walls today and everyday until 19 March, you’ll note that TSW keeps sneaking up to WDTPRS. Very cool, that. It’s important for the priesthood that TSW takes the prize this very year.

But I have a complaint! It seems about a zillion people voted your Holy Souls Hermitage, this blog you’re now reading, spiking me up from at most 1%, all the way to 3%. I’ve been shunting all my votes over to These Stone Walls! And now this! Noooooooooooo!!!! These Stone Walls could have been up to 40 or 41%. Noooooooooooo!!!

In reparation, go vote for These Stone Walls today and every 24 period after that until 19 March! :)

Father, May I be honest? This popularity contest is like us trying to decide which is our favorite child. All these blogs have there own unique and interesting qualities. Me, I am staying out of this fight!

Yes, Fr. You’re doing the right thing – we should all want Fr MacRae to win this award. This falsely convicted and long-time imprisoned holy priest should be saluted in any way possible. And unlike others I could mention, he has the good grace not to canvass on his own behalf!

[[ There's good reasons to do that latter bit, Lynda! Not to worry! - Father George ]]

But Father, But Father! Some of us have two email addresses, and therefore can vote for TSW with one, and for you with the other. It’s not an “either or” situation at all. :-)

    [[ Grrrr! - Father George. :) ]]

Father George, with respect. The question, and the purpose of the competition (I can’t believe I ‘m getting myself involved in this) is for people to show which blog they believe is the best (most helpful, interesting from a Catholic point of view) blog. You would like to use the competition for a different purpose (in charity). But that would convey totally the wrong message. Catholics want blogs that convey all of Catholic teaching, not just one example of the persecution of the church. Father Gordon’s blog is a worthy cause, but is by no stretch of the imagination to be considered the best Catholic blog. Maybe that’s what a lot of people are trying to show you and the organizers of the competition. Listen to them! Your blog is unique, whatever you do, don’t change it to be more like someone else’s, however worthy the cause. Maybe we can have another competition for “The most worthy cause Catholic Blog” and we’ll all vote for These Stone Walls, probably even Father Zee will!
    God bless

[[ But Michael! But Michael! Father Gordon does write about any number of topics! I do put up pictures of Laudie-dog, I must admit, but still! Also, when one can rejoice in one virtue, justice, one can rejoice in all other virtues, for all virtues are interconnected. Progress in one is progress in all. Lack of progress in one is lack of progress in all. Since there is no category for "most worthy cause Catholic blog", it can shine in the "best Catholic blog" category"! - Father George :) ]]

  5. I t should not be a contest for who serves God the best!

  6. Susan: It’s not! The purpose of highlighting especially These Stone Walls is to draw attention not only to a great site that many don’t know about, but to bring the abuse crisis full circle. In encouraging due process for priests instead of continuing with The Judas Crisis, we’ll have less abuse of office. That’s so important for the new evangelization. I mean, did people fall away 11 years ago? Yep. Time to really set things right. That’s not done by scapegoating innocent priests whose diocese criminally stacked the jury against him, knowing that he was innocent.

Gee, none of this matters. It is not a contest. It is a vehicle, an opportunity to bring attention to a wrong committed not only to Father Gordon, but to many other religious in the name of justice. The blinders need to come off. The church is looseing members and vocations and any means we can use to bring attention to these issues should be used. Father Gordon is just the tip of the problem “may he be blessed,” Personally I would vote for Father Geroge if this were a contest. As an old activest I consider this an “Important Action.” So brothers and sisters in Christ lets unite and make it happen…
    Blessings

Our falsely accussed priests derserve justice. I would never vote for any best catholic blog if it wasn’t the fact that Fr McRae deserves freedom from his wrongful inprisonment.

Father Fr McRae you are always in our prayers daily.
