Habemus Papam! A short video for old time’s sake!

I was in Saint Peter’s Square for this. I loved it altogether. When the name Josephus was declared, all were electrified who wanted to hear Ratzinger. The rest were shorted out. We continue to pray the next Successor to Saint Peter will be, as was Pope Benedict XVI, a sign of unity.

I humbly submit that Faith, not Unity, is the Prime attribute for a Pope.
After all, both Mohammed and Lenin wanted unity.

  2. Dear brothers and sisters,
I announce to you a great joy,
    We have a Pope.

The most eminent and reverend Lord
    Lord Joseph,
Cardinal Ratzinger of the Holy Roman Church,
which was given the name of Benedict XVI.

  3. (which was given?) Maybe: “Who has taken”

  4. Thomas! Hah! Yes, of course. But the unity our Lord wanted is only possible in that Sacrifice in which, lifted up, He draws all to Himself!

You remind me of an epic moment for Ted Koppel on his Nightline, in the time of yore, when South Africa was about to have its segregation undone. He said that surely the police are to be praised for keeping order. The guest from South Africa said that, yes, they have kept order, Blacks over here, Chinese over there, Indians over there, Whites of any kind over there, etc., all done with incredible violence and injustice, but sure, there was order, you know, just like in Auschwitz there was great order, but no justice at all. Ted, of course, was Jewish. As you can imagine, he was stunned, and immediately praised the answer. Yikes!

What of all the scriptures which say that the Church should expect to be despised by the world as He was? There is so much ‘unity’ now that they even let pagans use the altars at Fatima. I would only be half-surprised if the conclave elected the Dali Lama.

( Don’t expect you to post this one, but your posts and the comments got me to thinkin’. )

  6. That’s alright, Rebecca. Error has no rights!
