How astonishing for the Holy Father to resign! And, what excellent timing; we look to have a new pope in the Easter season. Our Lady of Lourdes, our Lady of the Immaculate Conception pray for us!

  2. Carolyn: The timing belongs, of course, to the Lord of History, before whom Pope Benedict is in humble reverence, crushed prostrate by the reality of the wounds Jesus still bears in His body for us.

Well, this brings Lent sharply into focus, doesn’t it? Let’s accompany our dear Holy Father and the College of Cardinals in prayer.

Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est. Congregavit nos in unum Christi amor.

Thanks be to God for the pontificate of this holy and humble man. God bless our Pope, the great and good!
