The phones are ringing off the wall.
If you’ve tried to get through to the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), you know it’s been tough. If you’ve wanted to express your concern about the BSA abandoning their longstanding policy of safeguarding Scouts by restricting openly homosexual Scout leaders from holding leadership positions, you may have been greeted by an endlessly ringing phone. This may be one instance in which the Boy Scouts were not prepared.
The BSA national leadership were not prepared for the thousands of Americans who were shocked to hear that an organization that could always be counted on for standing for what’s right was about to cave-in to homosexual activists and corporations which have been threatening the organization’s funding.
For generations, the BSA has shaped our nation’s moral character by teaching young men to do their duty to God and country. This is why, when the BSA board begins its annual meeting on Monday of next week, it is so important that you keep the pressure on, to show them how devastating this moral collapse will be for the Scouts and the country.

As you’re aware, a new proposal indicates that the Boy Scouts of America may revoke their longstanding policy of safeguarding Scouts by restricting homosexuals from holding leadership positions over boys. For decades, your national organization has kept the interest of the boys it serves as the focus of all its actions. No matter what, the Boy Scouts of America could be counted upon to do the right thing and not yield to any social pressure, and has thus far stood strong.
Please do not jeopardize the safety and moral integrity of Scouting in the interest of social activism. The proposal to relegate the decision on homosexual leaders to local chartered organizations sends the wrong signal from the national body: that political correctness ultimately triumphs over character.
Please retain the current long-held and time-tested policy regarding homosexual leadership and membership. America stands with you. Lead the way. Please stand strong.

Accompany me, Father George David Byers, S.S.L., S.T.D., as I begin life as a Catholic Priest-Hermit by choice. Prayer and sacrifice go up, of course, for both Benedict XVI and the next Successor of Saint Peter. 
I’m seriously considering sending the BSA an email informing them that if this measure passes they can expect to receive via UPS all of my official Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts uniforms, merit badges, awards, etc. as I would not wish to be associated with an organization that, as a matter of published policy, knowingly supports—and/or directly endangers young boys by allowing their congress with—men who openly practice and promote a sodomite lifestyle.
Heretofore, the BSA was a model for secular organizations. I remember several troops that I had belonged to sponsored each by Catholic, Protestant, or Jewish institutions, but all of them promoting the same moral character, patriotism, civic responsibility, and above all conservationist and survivalist outdoorsmanship.
The homosexualist agenda is antithetical to all of those propositions: an amoral, unhealthy, and unhygienic lifestyle opposed to moral character; cultural and national degradation or destruction instead of patriotism; incivility and oppression for those who disagree with them rather than civil responsibility; and an utter contempt for Nature and her varied but ordered beauty in place of a Godly conservation, stewardship, and enjoyment of the same.
If the Boy Scouts approves homosexual leaders, the Mormon church will surely form an alternate scouting organization. This is kind of outrageous–most Mormon boys are scouts, and it is genuinely a good program. Why must the activists push their will onto everyone else? It is not a wonderful lifestyle. It is not just another form of “love.”
I’m a Life Scout. The last thing I want to see is the admittance of homosexual men to positions of power over minor boys. Maybe, instead of calling it the BS of A, I’ll just call it BS.
Yikes, to the nth degree
Sorry to say it but it’s my cynical nature to say “party’s over folks”; the Boy Scouts have been infiltrated and destroyed and like it or not the homosexual agenda is winning this battle of the cultue war. It would be nice to see us win anything once in a while but I don’t think in my lifetime it will happen. The way I see it, Christ has already won the battle between sin, death and evil and we can win too if we cling to Him and His Church but our victory will not be apparent this side of Eternity. That being said I will offer up a Hail Mary for the Scouts to not capitulate but I have little faith that they won’t. As a good Catholic historian I know of once said regarding these anti God, anti life culture warriors “no doesn’t mean no, it only means not yet”. They will keep fighting until they win as they have the media, the education establishment and the government, nay, the law itself on their side. Without natural law (which is NOT admitted into our legal system) there is really no rational, reasonable defense or argument against homosexuality at all. The only way our side can ever hope to win the culture war here will be when we will literally draw a line in the sand that we are not willing to cross and say ENOUGH and mean it.
