Very cool poem about the children of Sandy Hook: The Lord is evident

From an email:

Twas’ 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through Heaven’s gate.

Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.

They were filled with such joy, they didn’t know what to say.
they remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.

“Where are we?” asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
“This is heaven.” declared a small boy.
“We’re spending Christmas at God’s house.”

When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their Savior, the children gathered near.

He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same,
then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
And in that moment was joy, that only Heaven can bring;
those children all flew into the arms of their King,

and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus’ face.
And as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, “I’ll take care of mom and dad.”

Then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe.
Then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,

“Let My power and presence re-enter this land!”
“May this country be delivered from the hands of fools”
“I’m taking back my nation. I’m taking back my schools!”

Then He and the children stood up without a sound.
“Come now my children, let me show you around.”
Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran,
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.

And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
“In the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT.”

Written by [a lady] in Mt. Wolf, PA [ I edited the name of the author out since all this is so crazy with death threats for anyone who has a nice thing to say about the kids and their teachers, or approves of mourning for the loss of life.]

Comment: I bet that there are adults who laid down their lives in trying to protect the children that are on their way as well. Also, just to say, our Lord never did abandon the USA. People will do horrible things, using their free will the wrong way.

  • Our Lord is evident in the teachers laying down their lives to try to protect the children.
  • Our Lord is evident in the bravery of the police who rushed into the school.
  • Our Lord is evident in the grieving of so many.
  • Our Lord’s continual care for us is evident when we really take a look at Him, and see the wounds on His hands and feet, His side, His Heart.

God knows what it means to suffer injustice, mortal violence, torture and death. He takes all this on to have the right in justice to have mercy on us. We still go through these things here on earth because of the justice of original sin and the misuse of free will that people are to have. But then there’s heaven. The author of the poem has it right about the kids.

To such children belong the Kingdom of the heavens.

We need to be little children.

These children lead the way. They are cheering us on.

This beautiful poem brought tears to my eyes in remembering the heroism of the teachers and the little innocents who needlessly died. I pray this will be a wakeup call to those who are fence sitters. We must be proactive in protecting our youth and bring those in darkness to Christ and his Blessed Mother. Blessings to all and Thank You to the person who wrote this very meaningful poem.

    Why
    20 brand new angels
    arrived just yesterday.
    Frightened and confused
    they only wished to stay
    with parents now left empty,
    and shattered beyond belief.
    Their babies’ precious little lives
    stolen by a spineless thief
    with evil in his heart,
    and killing on his mind.
Dear God where are you now?
    It’s getting hard to find
    a reason for the carnage,
and the acts of the insane.
Can we still find eternal love
    surrounded by such pain?
    Now 20 brand new angels
    who only yesterday did die,
and with them, too, the innocence.
    Why, dear God, why?

[James: Your anguish is appreciated. Grief comes from love. Reason is not the enemy of grief. Let's reason this out. You question God's respecting the free will of those who would misuse it for whatever impetus. You question the presence of eternal love amidst the darkenss. These twenty+ are a few of the untold zillions who have suffered and died from the first man until the last is conceived. Let's put in all the pain and anguish and injustice ever known in the universe into this question. Can there be a God who creates and respects free will? Sure.

Original sin has consequences, which, because freely chosen, are respected: weakness of mind, weakness of will, emotions all over the place, sickness, death. We have free will which we can all the more easily abuse. We have free will to sin. We have free will with which we can do the wrong thing even against others, a free will with which others can do the wrong thing, for which we can also suffer.

Redemption wrought by our Lord respects justice, the consequences of sin, in this world. To have the right in justice to have mercy on us, to forgive original sin and anything else anyone else might have done, our Lord took on the worst we could give out to another, death. When you take a look at Jesus, please, notice the gaping wounds on hands and feets, in His side, in His, yes, Sacred Heart. He does provide that forgiveness, should we choose to want this. He does provide the mercy of giving us the wherewithal to do the right thing even in this world, should we want this. He gives us the wherewithal to be good and kind, a grace which will blossom out in heaven, should we want this. But we still have free will. People are afraid of free will and will use the deaths of children like this to deny there is any such thing, to deny that it was good for God to create us with free will (without which no love is possible), to assert that God is simply a figment of imagination somewhere out in an abstract outerspace. But no. Look again. Look for God, for all His goodness and kindness, tortured to death on the cross. Look at the majesty of a mercy based on a justice He took on Himself. Look for the joy of twenty littlies who rush, rush, rush with joy into the arms of God in eternity. We will all die, in all our zillions. Sooner or later in this short life we have makes little difference in view of all eternity. God knows when the time is best for us. We don't. Nor should we play God. Instead, it is for us to grieve. It is for us to be good and kind. It is for us to encourage others to be good and kind. It is for us to suffer in the darkness until the Dawn from on High breaks upon us and invites us into heaven, and, pronouces our names...]

[Edit out of entire comment. ... Marvin provided a link with no explanation. That's it. Not nice. But I followed the link and he has a nice poem about total gun control, no guns at all. Marvin is not from the USA. In answer to that, I would say that there should be a heavily armed guard at every school, in uniform, and another, incognito, such as a janitor, actually another guard, with concealed weapons. Texas wants to arm the teachers, but this is stupid. Pretty much 100% of teachers will have their guns removed from them by the students just to show the teachers how inept they are. No, no. Just have armed guards, one in uniform, one not.]

I heard this poem on the Dr. Phil show and it brought tears to my eyes. It made me think of all the parents who have presents under their tree for the children they will never see again. There will be no Christmas for these familys because of someone who was so selfish as to take all these little childrens lives. I can’t imagine their pain. How I wish the world was different. There will never be closure for the familys because the coward who did this took his own life. How sad!!! Whoever wrote this poem has a heart of gold. Thank you for writing this.

Here is a page with lovely pictures of the victims and memorial poems written in their honor:

[[... rest of comment edited out. Sorry, M.B., but you've loaded all that with political commentary about the NRA, which I think is most inappropriate... ]]
