3rd Presidential Debate — Why I think Romney was a clear winner

  • I got the impression that Romney’s foreign policy amounts to a laudable desire to help other nations develop peacefully, and to otherwise take a non-military leadership role in taking out islamicist death mongers in Iran/Syria and in other regions.
  • I got the impression that Obama’s foreign policy amounts to placing an emphasis on women’s rights at home and abroad, whatever the emergency of the day around the world happens to otherwise be. Women’s rights, of course, for Obama, means abortion, etc.

Am I wrong?

I don’t envy American Catholic voters having to choose which candidate to vote for.

I understand the reasons why you do not want to vote for Obama but I wonder how many know that for two years Romney when a 19 year old knocked on doors in France to try and convert people to Mormonism?

I well remember the anxiety here in England when President Kennedy was voted in – newspaper articles on what a Catholic President of the US would mean abounded. Many were horrified at the thought. Are you not afraid of Romney’s Mormonism?

  2. He sounded in-the-know and respectful of the Catholic Church at the Al Smith Dinner, totally unlike Obama.

I appreciate your reply Father – it is a very worrying situation. I watched those speeches and have seen the pictures of the Cardinal laughing with President Obama. Romney did indeed sound respectful but then don’t all politicians want to appeal to whoever they are talking to at the time?

  4. Except Obama. Not a good sign.

We all need to follow our Catholic church’s direction on voting; I have a list of those who our diocese in Phila and Bucks County are supporting, that is those who are against abortion and the hhs mandate and basically Obama himself. We need a miracle; but I have never seen our Catholics making their voices heard as I hear now. They are yelling from the proverbial rooftops. Hopefully our prayers will come to fruition. God bless you Father
