Yesterday evening and then again early this morning, I threw the chainsaw, some gasoline and bar-oil into J.J. (Jenny the Jeep), and cut and hauled three smallish forest hemlocks, victims of adelgid all. This pile of firewood might have lasted a week during the coldest bit of last winter. But hopefully, with the addition of firebricks to the inside of the too-large wood stove, not to mention having a door[!], I might not be using so much wood. A father of one of the seminarians in the diocese also donated (unsolicited) some bubble-insulation. Very cool, um, so to speak!
- Meanwhile, thanks go to F.K., who, besides the Mass intentions the other day, also provided a totally unsolicited gift to the hermitage. Very kind and thoughtful. By the way, there was someone from the College of William and Mary who followed the blog I had in Lourdes some years ago. Just sayin’…
- Thanks also go to S.R., who sent in a gift to the hermitage along with intentions for Holy Mass. As you can see on the Mass Page, these are as follows (except for the one on 8 December):
Tuesday, 4 December, through Wednesday, 5 December, 2012, Holy Mass is offered for the repose of the soul of Father Bobby Rimes, S.J., at the request of S.R.
Thursday, 6 December, through Friday, 7 December, 2012, Holy Mass if offered for Father C.L.R., O.C.D., very much alive, for his success and safety in the missions.
Saturday, 8 December, 2012, Holy Mass is offered for a special intention. Motu Proprio.
Sunday, 9 December, through Monday, 10 December, 2012, Holy Mass is offered for Archbishop J.P.S., very much alive, at the request of S.R.
Tuesday, 11 December, through Wednesday, 12 December, 2012, Holy Mass is offered for Father H.N., very much alive, at the request of S.R.
Thursday, 13 December, through Friday, 14 December, 2012, Holy Mass is offered for Father P.N.P., O.P., very much alive, at the request of S.R.
- Thanks go to G.F., for his kind gift to the hermitage. G has some ideas about the Emergency Chaplet of the Immaculate Conception that I would like to share with you in another post. Very thoughtful, G. Thank you.
Now, just to say, I’ll be sending out more David F. Pierre Books today: “Catholic Priests Falsely Accused – The Facts, The Fraud, The Stories.” I’ll check the email just before going into the Post Office. If you send me your mailing address by then, you’ll get a free copy, supplied by one of our readers of Holy Souls Hermitage. People have no idea. They keep saying this, shaking their heads in disbelief. Get your copy. Don’t be shy. Check out David’s The Media Report.
N.B.: Trust me. You’ll be hearing very much more about all this in a very short time concerning a case known to me for some years now. You will have wished you had read this book before that happens.
N.B.: You can also leave your mailing address in a comment, as has already been done. I will not publish that information on the blog. Don’t worry. It won’t make it through the moderation queue. But I’ll see it.

Accompany me, Father George David Byers, S.S.L., S.T.D., as I begin life as a Catholic Priest-Hermit by choice. Holy Souls Hermitage is dedicated to the sanctification of my fellow priests, bishops, deacons & seminarians going through the purgatory of this life or the next. Prayer and sacrifice go up, of course, for both Benedict XVI and the next Successor of Saint Peter.
