Florae for the Immaculate Conception and some news

Did I mention this previously? Je suis en deuil: here and then here.

At the moment, just to say, this hermit is on a kind of retreat. Some say that this is the wrong spirit, that I’m not “doing” anything. Not contributing today. That I’m part of the problem, not the solution. But, let me tell you, there is nothing more practical than a retreat. There is nothing more practical than prayer.

If any have have sent in a contribution against all my protesttions, please don’t give up on me by cancelling any check (which gets very expensive) as I won’t be able to do anything until 27 July 2012. Thank you! I depend on you. May the Lord reward you abundantly.

  1. We now know you are fine and taking a retreat. Good enough! May God bless you.

  2. Father, I am convinced that the heaviest lifting is done by prayer.

If only these people who say you are not doing anything only knew and how can they NOT know???? They have read your blog and can not be totally unaware of the knowledge you have to bring these subjects to life in our lives but also to send all of us great messages of hope love and faith. Such great leasons are right here for the reading. Doing nothing is NOT the case but spreading your deep love for out Lord as we should have and have daily.

They don’t know because the prevailing culture at large has absolutely no belief in religious truths, the life of grace or the Catholic Church or use for them either. Priests and religious to them are literally useless feeders and social parasites that peddle in lies and superstitions that keep people ignorant and in the dark about “the here and now” and all the wonders a classless secularist society can give to man through science and technology alone.

We certainly know and value what father is doing but there are millions that do not and they are vastly becoming a majority throughout the Western world.

Justin you are so very right in saying that the majority have no use for the graces given by our practice of faith. I am actually closely related to just such a person who feels that all priests and even seminarians are parasites who do absolutely nothing but beg for money. This person lives his life with a very bitter personality however. I see these people as living out there lives in darkness on all sides and it is so sad. The thing that bothers me the most however is how very selfish these people are. They can not—can not—stand to see people liker Father George who is the very opposite of selfish. Pray for them and for their souls. We all have at least one person in our lives who insists on letting us know they think what we are doing at the moment does not meet their approval. However do we need their approval? No just our Lord’s.
