   you dont have to post this comment .. but Father, were the bishops against this or for it up until the mandate?
   i thought the whole thing was bad – i am not for this at all… yet this post makes it confusing and it was sent out over twitter –

   He’s made an exact account of the way things stand. They were always for it, though they didn’t like the abortion bits, etc.

   thanks Father. i suppose i thought we still wouldn’t support it after everything that has been done by the current administration.
   we could have more free clinics sponsored by catholic hospitals, we could ask for people to help monetarily, have doctor and nurse volunteers to help to make health care accessable to everyone. Medicare or medicaid could be expanded.. (not to the bills extent, however)
   there are just… lots of other ways we can help those in need.
   hopefully, i conveyed that i wanted to understand what the article meant, nothing more. i was just confused.. if i did imply anything else i apologize it was not intentional.

   Hello j — Subsidiarity has been thrown out by a desire for a welfare state. That’s just the way it is. There is a reason, of course, for true subsidiarity, in the aid of those who cannot otherwise find a way out. You mention free clinics, etc. I agree. But there have been power grabs with those as well. It will take some very altruistic doctors and nurses. There have been many. We will need more now. We need to provide hospices with no euthanasia. Birthing centers with no abortion.

   Yes, I bet that we will soon see in America what is now in England, which has perhaps the worst medical system in the world, euthanatizing everyone they don’t like.
