The Saint Michael painting – in situ – Saint Peter’s Basilica, Rome

Sent in today by a reader of the blog who is making a pilgrimage ad limina apostolorum, and who is praying the Saint Michael prayer for my intentions. Thank you! — You’ll find this altar back around behind the confessional area.

Please, once for my intentions, and once for all of yourselves praying this prayer. Thank you!

Sancte Michael Archangele,
defende nos in proelio;
contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto praesidium.
Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur:
tuque, Princeps militiae Caelestis,
satanam aliosque spiritus malignos,
qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo,
divina virtute in infernum detrude.
Amen.

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle; be our protection
against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray:
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Dear Father, may I ask you and all who may read this comment to please also pray the St. Michael prayer for the Catholic Church in Ireland and especially for the “Association of Catholic Priests in Ireland” which seems to be totally against many of the Church’s teachings. They seem to me to be becoming as protestant as Martin Luther ever was.

  2. Yes, prayers. I know the crowd in Ireland all too well. So sad.

  3. I am so glad I found this blog. Your journey fascinates me. I’m sure I will be blessed following along with you.
