“The more I pray for your intentions the more I feel another power oppressing me… God have mercy on me!”

Some days ago I made a rather urgent request for you prayers, asking you all to invoke Saint Michael, asking that you pray the Saint Michael prayer once for my intentions and then once for you and yours. Many of you have also had Masses offered for me. Thank you.

Today I would like to repeat this request, asking that after you pray the Saint Michael Prayer for my intentions, when you then also pray this prayer for you and yours, you also include in this latter prayer those who are doing as you are in praying this Saint Michael Prayer.

This is a battle, and Satan is rather upset. We need to stick together. That statement – “The more I pray for your intentions the more I feel another power opressing me… God have mercy on me” — was made by one of best pray-ers I know. We need to remember each other in prayer as well. Thanks!

Sancte Michael Archangele,
defende nos in proelio;
contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto praesidium.
Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur:
tuque, Princeps militiae Caelestis,
satanam aliosque spiritus malignos,
qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo,
divina virtute in infernum detrude. Amen.

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle; be our protection against
the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray:
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

The same thing has been happening to me since I started both praying for you and considering a retreat someone in my Oblate group recommended- complete with waking between 3 and 4am in complete anxiety for no reason. We must keep praying, obvioulsy it is more effective than we know.

I am glad you mentioned this. It means it’s not just me or my imagination. I can’t believe all the distractions and obstacles I have been encountering. I have been experiencing fear, anger and periods of depression lately. It’s a battle in which I feel very alone. I called on the Holy Family, St. Michael, all the angels and particularly my favourite saints. I believe they are helping me meet my obligations, offerings and protecting me. I have been uniting my prayers with you but from now on I will also unite it with all the other souls praying this intention. My prayers have been sent…God bless everyone.

  4. Samething here, woke up before 3am, around about quarter-to-3. I went downstairs and I felt a very uneasy presence around me. I have been also suffering from anxiety a liittle bit more.

  5. There are many others who have mentioned being troubled at night.

Well, not to worry. Christ has conquered. But it is a battle!

Saint Michael! Defend us in battle!

Glad to have the privilege to pray for you.

Recently I’ve found that it’s easy to get back to sleep after suddenly awakening if I immediately thank God for the unexpected opportunity to praise him at such a strange hour. Perhaps that might work for other folks too.

Well, a day or so after Fr. and I decided I will be coming into the Church at the Easter Vigil, I broke a bone… then got a semi-expensive oil leak in my car… my RCIA sponsors got a hideous flu… and work has turned weird. BUT! From the x-ray the break should have been painful (said the doc) but it never was – I asked the RCIA team to pray for me; the oil leak could have destroyed the engine but it didn’t; and I am employed and insured so I can pay for said bills.

My point is, we may feel something breathing down our neck, but, we are in fact being Looked After.

And I am saying this prayer several times a day. And continuing to pray for priests!

  8. Thanks JayDeee! Yikes!
    And… wow! Welcome Home!
    Counting the hours?!?

  9. JayDeee

    Thank you.

There’s a lot of the Yikes going around! But a lot of prayer, too.

Hi…I am new here…I too, for a long time wake up around the 3 o’clock hour…I feel God wants me to recite the ‘Divine Mercy chaplet’…so this is what I do (most of the time)…while not trying to dose off again…I read that many people are getting the same indication…..Praise be Jesus and Mary!!!
