I didn’t expect these flowers, but they were donated the other day specifically for the altar. Very wonderful. Thank you for that!

I had left the plastic sheet door drawn open for a change of air, and in came the rooster, who struts about as if he totally owns the place.

This is first pine sawyer of the season. Little fellow. They get much bigger than this.

Accompany me, Father George David Byers, S.S.L., S.T.D., as I begin life as a Catholic Priest-Hermit by choice. Holy Souls Hermitage is dedicated to the sanctification of my fellow priests, bishops, deacons & seminarians going through the purgatory of this life or the next. Prayer and sacrifice go up, of course, for both Benedict XVI and the next Successor of Saint Peter.

You are one Happy Hermit
Good morning Father. Or is it evening there?
Beautiful flowers! Very fitting for the Blessed Sacrament.
[Handsome but peeved-looking Mr. Rooster:] “I was going to eat that pine sawyer. Are you going to eat it? No? Put it down, please, it’s mine.”
Of course, that’s an idea JayDeee… Are there recipes for Pine Sawyers? Perhaps with pine nuts? Perhaps with a chocolate coating?
Dear Father, per the new GIRM dated June 2011, #305, flowers are not allow on the altar table top.
Yes! But these are on the gradines!
