Separation of Church and State on 9-11

Separation of Church and State protects the Church from undue interference by the State, and respects the role of the laity in secular activities, as it should be. In an ideal world, the government is made up of believers. This is not an ideal world. We must insist that Separation of Church and State does not mean that the government kills off those who mention God in the public square. We must insist that Separation of Church and State does not mean that a believer cannot live out his faith as a politician, voting his conscience as informed by the doctrine and morality of the Church.
