BTW, HSH reminds all to pray for the Holy Souls in purgatory. Hail Mary…
BTW, the moment of silence thing that is so popular these days was originally an Irish thing from time immemorial. The moment was not meant to respect those who didn’t want to pray or who didn’t share one’s faith, blah, blah, blah.
The moment of silence was meant to be a prayer for the Holy Souls in purgatory. They are without a voice to ask us to pray for them. Let’s take a moment of silence right now, and in that silence, pray for the Holy Souls: Hail Mary…
UPDATE: As one faithful Irish reader of HSH pointed out: “Ah, I’m not surprised they entered into silence on Skellig Mhichil:

Accompany me, Father George David Byers, S.S.L., S.T.D., as I begin life as a Catholic Priest-Hermit by choice. Holy Souls Hermitage is dedicated to the sanctification of my fellow priests, bishops, deacons & seminarians going through the purgatory of this life or the next. Prayer and sacrifice go up, of course, for both Benedict XVI and the next Successor of Saint Peter.
